Why Are Veterans Important To Society

Veterans are important to our past and future because they help to keep our country free. They fight so we all have the right to freedom. These men and women are important, because they risk their lives every day for the United States of America. Without these veterans in the past we would not have all of the rights and freedom that we have nowadays. If we do not have veterans in the future we may not be the United States of America anymore.

Veterans are important because they have given us our freedom from tyrants for the past 237 years. Vets fought against the oppressors from of England during the War of Independence and the War of 1812. They continue to fight today! The estimated amount of casualties from the War of Independence was around 50,000! That means over 50,000 people died to stop England’s tyranny, in just one of two wars! In attacking Americans in the War of 1812, England sent ten times as many troops in just the last six months, than they had during all the years before. Our nation past was, well, not always perfect. Without some of our veterans, our country wouldn’t be as free as it is. Veterans continue to make our country a free country, which also makes it a better place to live in. Veterans stood up for our country; whether the ones forced to go during the draft, or the ones who voluntarily go. Whether the cause, they were always ready to go and fight for the people’s freedom. Saying “The Pledge of Allegiance” and singing “The Star Spangled Banner” makes me feel so proud to live here. Listening to veterans tell stories about wars is so interesting. You wonder how they survived and how some are still willing to go out and fight. When you see a veteran, you realize that this is your home. These veterans have given me a life most people would love to have. These veterans stood up for what they believed in. I will never meet all of them, but I will never be able to express how thankful I am. These veterans are people we pass every day, they don’t expect a thank you. We lose about 1,000 World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans everyday. They should be thanked a lot

Veterans sacrificed their lives for us. A lot of those soldiers never thought they would have to actually go out and hurt someone. Throughout the battle a lot of people were really bad hurt and a lot did not make it. A lot gave there arms, and legs for us. They didn’t run away they stood their ground and gave their lives for us. The ones that got hurt or had scars will be the ones you can tell that never ran. Those are the ones that mabey saw others run, but stayed with tears but keep going. For these reasons, we should always be respectful and be glad they did it for us.

All military veterans make sacrifices, and fight courageously for our freedom. They protect our beloved county from disastrous peril. Veterans are one of the only reasons that we are safe, allowed to do what we want, and have free agency. They deserve to be honored and respected as amazing people who put aside everything for the country’s needs.

There have been many great wars in history of The United States of America, and these loyal, hard working and aging soldiers have come to be called veterans. A veteran is someone who has served or is serving in the armed forces. They are honored on November, 11 every year. That's how much they mean to us. We honor them because they risk their lives saving ours. They should be noticed for all their sacrifices. They should also be honored because they help keep freedom in our country. These are three reasons why they should be honored, there are many more because they do so much for us.

Any man or woman who goes to war to serve for our country should always remain recognized for their sacrificial decisions to protect all the people of the United States. That is why Veteran’s Day is so important to the not only the troops’ family, but to everyone. Individually we recognize the hard work that they do, the daily sacrifices they make, and putting their life on the line for our freedom and justice. Veteran’s day is for current troops who are serving and for former troops as a consequence to renounce their great doings. “Only the dead have seen the end of war” -Plato. On Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of WW1. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. To me Veterans Day should be celebrated to honor veterans because they fought and died for our freedom, went through crazy experiences, and fight for people they do not know.

When veterans are respected they know that everyone are about them. I also think of them being able to have more respect than we do because they risked their lives just for us. Plus, veterans should have equal rights. But most importantly they should be able to go somewhere and have no one look down on them. In my mind veterans should be respected no matter what.

Freedom is something several people do not understand how to appreciate. We expect our freedom to be protected, as if it was our divine right for soldiers to quarrel for us. The people who risk their lives for us could not possibly be thanked enough. “I’m sorry for your loss” is not enough to fill the vast and gaping hole that is left in the deceased’s loved ones hearts. Nothing could ever be enough. Still, on Veteran’s Day we try to atone for the deaths by offering families and survivors jobs, money and parades. Parties and dissertations written by students are how death is coped with, and thankfulness is expressed. Why do they fight for us? You deserve an endless amount of gratitude for doing the impossible and stepping forwards when others step back. All civilians in the United States appreciate you passing up so many opportunities for us. Some people don’t realize how often you save their life, how many relatives you save, or what you do to keep them free. I also know you don't get the honor you deserve at times. Even though we envisioned peace for our future, that didn’t mean it was and will always be that way. When violence broke out between us and other countries, our veterans made the ultimate sacrifice by fighting for and believing in America. For that, we should all be eternally grateful. Because of them, we have the freedom and the right to stand up for ourselves and our beliefs. They pushed and never gave up on our country. Moreover, troops are still fighting today for our freedom and our ability to be Americans on our soil or abroad.

Our United States Veterans need the biggest recognition out of every one of us. They risk their lives to make our lives safe and so that we can have the rights that we have now. Without them we wouldn’t be this amazing country people claim we are. We are at this point in history because of them. They give me the hope and security people need.
