My experience in Biology 1050 was challenging and helpful. One challenging thing about biology 1050 is the exam because I would feel like I did good or decent on the exam but, when I get the exam it is not good. Some of the test was different for me because what I studied was not on the test. Another challenge was the homework assignment because we did not go over it in class and after we turn it in we go over it. I had to rely on the internet, textbook, and my knowledge to help me finish my homework assignment. I wish the homework assignment could help my grade go up and go over it in class to give a general idea of the assignment. At time in class was different to understand some of the materials covered in class because some of it was base on what you already know from previous class and going over the lecture notes fast. …show more content…
In class, I felt like I had to use apply what I know from my other classes. I like how the lecture notes and audio was online so, I reviewed the materials again for the test, to clear and view my confusion. To prepare for the exam I would meet up with my classmates, go to review section, go to the SI and study on my own. When I meet up with a classmate we ask question to each other and go over the clicker question. We make sure why the correct answer is and why it is not the answer. For the first test, I would memories the clicker question answer because I knew that it is going to be on the test. These strategies and activity are going to help me succeed in other science classes. Base on what I learn in Biology 1050, I can use it in my other class to be
The first step to successfully study for any type of material is to keep the material organized and make sure the information is correct. A good routine would be to check notes periodically

During my walk in Oral Robert University, I have discovered new adventures and paths that lead me to believe Jesus is and will always be the best thing that ever happened to me. In my discipline, which is biology, I have seen and experience many ups and downs, I have heard the mentality of some of my school mates when they tell me their view between biology and Christianity. Thankfully I never doubted about my beliefs. I am thankful I did not mix my knowledge of biology and my faith with Jesus in a way that I would have to stop believing either one. I love biology, but I love Jesus the most. Instead, biology did in fact helped me realize the amazing creation of our God behind every part of science. How do we show that to the rest of biologist out there? It is important to switch the presupposition that goes against or in different ways to Christianity, to ultimately reveal the truth to even those who are strongly opposed to Christ in the scientific world; introducing a Christian Theism world, and finally guide their beliefs and actions towards the living Christ.

What study tips described in the text can you incorporate into your study efforts? (SQ3R) Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review. I prioritize each upcoming exam and the supporting materials, including the assigned chapters. I take advantage of the instructor’s office hours and asking, “which material is most important for me to learn?” If that information wasn’t communicated in class hours. Also, I have completed the practice questions/test and I read the summary at the end of the chapter. I Incorporated index cards to help me understand and remember the chapter’s glossary terms. If I use these tips, I usually do well on my exams.
My mom is a biologist, so sometimes while we cook dinner together we’ll have discussions that delve pretty deeply into what I learned (or thought I learned), which I really like. It sticks with me. Basically my studying method is figure out what I know and what my weaknesses are, attack the weaknesses first, make sure I ask questions and think insightfully, then check everything over. My methods for attacking my weaknesses depend on the type of stuff I’m learning about in AP Bio. I pick the one or combination of ones that I think will get me the most prepared in the least amount of
Go to class. No matter what you’ve heard, you need to be in class to pass. Not all professors post their assignments online, and it’s so much easier to understand the content if you’re there to discuss it.
Two weeks have passed since the beginning of the new semester, and in contrast to my mixed feelings regarding Biology 110 and Public Speaking, this has proven to be my favorite class. Thus far, we have covered early Native American settlements, the Columbian exchange, and the efforts of the Europeans (particularly the Spanish, French, English and Dutch) to colonize the New World. In addition to these lectures, we have already taken our first test, which was basically a review of the lectures. Perhaps the eight-week span of this course rather than the usual 16 is the reasoning behind the condensed lesson plan. However, I for one am not complaining. Overall, the lectures draw my attention and retain it, and a cursory glance at CrashCourse videos
This course was easily relatable to my AP bio course I took my senior year of high school, and my biology lab that I took this fall semester my freshman year. The lab and the lecture went hand in hand which helped me academically learn more. I noticed that by taking these two courses together it helps me learn more and better understand the material that I need to study/ know. All my knowledge of this course I mainly learned my senior year of high school through AP biology, although this course really emphasized my essential understanding of the course and went into more depth of the criteria that I needed to better know. I have acquired new ways of seeing, being, and thinking of this course because of the way it’s gone about. By being in this
The test taking lessons have helped me learn more about having good strategies for a test. I feel that with these lessons learned I can have more confidence to take a test and pass it. In this report I want to show why test taking is an important skill to learn. I also wanted to describe how I have prepared for test in the past. I also wanted to discuss three strategies I have learned from the computer tutorial in class and how I have changed my study habits so I can do better on test.
Biology with Mr. Carmichael is not so bad. He teaches you very well and explains things to you so that you will understand. There are a lot of notes but you will be fine if you write them down. Because they help you out a lot and most of your homework will rely on your homework. Study a lot before the quizzes and tests because trust me you will need the studying. The labs are honestly not so bad so just finish them and get them turned it and you will do great in Biology!
Hi this is Reina. It is such a perfect day to study biology. I just took BIOL230-22 exam 1, and I have some advice want to share with you for the following exams. That I took for BIOL230 was very different than what I expected from experiencing previous biology courses. Yes, it is different. Unlike science exams that you took before with tons of multiple choice questions that requires you to memorize professional vocabularies. this exam wants to hear you. Short essay questions require you to understand the materials fully, so you can explain and state your idea about the topic. don’t just try to remember that the definition or its function of a term, you should be able to connect ideas that you learned, and see the correlations of wha you learned.
After I get accepted into UC Riverside, I will spend my time in school taking courses related to a biology major. For example, I will take 1 year of General Biology, 1 year of General Chemistry, 1 year of Physics, 1 semester of Calculus, 1 year of English (101 and another English A course), 1 semester of Biochemistry, 1 semester of Microbiology, and 1 semester of Human Anatomy and Physiology. In order to pass all my classes, I will go to every single lecture, study with flashcards, and create study groups in order to brainstorm with classmates. I will also use multiple sources such as, the textbooks assigned to the class, search the web, get other books on the same topic because having other books might explain the topic better, and I will also ask questions in class like I did throughout my
The Articles discussed the issue of lianas’ massive overgrown over the trees in Amazon forests. There are both good news and bad news about it: the good news is that: the lianas provide food and water for animals passing the forest during the dry season, when water and food are relatively hard to find for animals. (Fountain,A Tree Hugger,2011). The bad news, however, is that the stems of the vines have grabbed soil nutrients, water and light away from the trees, which are essential for trees to grow and survive.(Fountain,A Tree Hugger,2011)Besides, the lianas have caused death to trees because as they grow surrounding the trees, they get more weight and eventually they become
