O.J. Simpson Case O.J. Simpson was the killer. All of the evidence in this trail pointed to him, but he could not be proven guilty. In the trial of O.J. Simpson, he was found not guilty of the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. The court case of O.J. Simpson was a very controversial case in its time. It was a controversial case mainly because of the interference from the media. The media gave their opinions on the case and became so involved that it began to sway the opinions of the jurors and people who watched the case. There were also many other factors in how the case gained its popularity. O.J Simpson could not be proven guilty because of multiple errors by the prosecuting side and a bad presentation of evidence. The following will explain O.J. Simpson’s life, his murder trial, the problems with the case, and all of the events that came after his initial murder trial. Prior to the crime, O.J Simpson had a very successful life. Simpson was born on July 9th, 1947 in San Francisco, California. His full name is Orenthal James Simpson but his nickname was Juice. Simpson grew up in the city of San Francisco and went to Galileo High school where he was very successful in the football program. He began to gain attention to himself in college football, playing for USC and winning a Heisman trophy. After Simpson’s success in college football, he went on to professional football in the NFL. In 1979, he retired from football and took up a career in acting and
The book that I am going to introduce is Outrage: The Five Reasons Why O.J. Got Away With Murder, written by Vincent Bugliosi, and was published on June 17, 1996. We all know that Nichole Simpson and Ronald Goldman were stabbed to death and their bodies were discovered on June 12, 1994 early morning. It was said that after a car chase, O.J. was found with $9,000 I cash, his passport, disguise, and a gun. O.J. Simpson who is her ex-husband was acquitted October 3, 1995, for their deaths in a trial that riveted the nation and divided people along racial differences. In 1997, he was ordered to pay a little over $33 million for their deaths. O.J. Simpson is still serving time in prison for things like kidnapping, robbery, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and numerous other charges. Mr. Bugliosi sums up five reason why the case was lost. Those five can be labeled as the jury, the change in venue or settings, the judge allowing the defense to play the race card, the stupidity of the prosecution throughout the trial, and lastly the summation of what should really have been done. But in honesty when the media started reporting about this case it was already falling apart.
O.J Simpson should have been found guilty due to his violent actions on June 12th, 1994. There were many actions or causes that led up to his violent act. The main and most known cause of Simpson’s act was “infidelity”. Simpson’s wife Nicole Simpson had been spending too much time with a man by the name of Ronald Goldman. When O.J became suspicious, he took immediate action.
The O.J. Simpson trial was one of the most recognizable cases in American History. It went on for 9 months. At 12:10 am on June 13, 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman were found murdered right outside of Bundy drive condo in Brentwood. Evidence found in the scene led the Police to suspect that O.J. Simpson was the murderer. Although the prosecution pointed to the evidence of the case Simpson lawyers argued that the police bungle the investigation and planted evidence. An examination of the case is that one of the policemen was racist and planted evidence in the scene to accuse O.J. Simpson of being the murderer.
10:58pm Allan Park sees a shadowy figure. When asked to describe this figure, he says the person was about 6 feet tall and approximately 200 pounds walking across the driveway towards the house.
Known around the world as O. J., famous celebrity Orenthal James Simpson was arrested and convicted for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her mistress, Ron Lyle Goldman. Although Simpson denied any participation in the crime, the FBI found numerous evidence that proved hands down that he was the murderer. After a trial that lasted more than eight months, he was acquitted and was able to go home. Personally, I feel that the jury made the wrong decision.
However, I think the most important people that this trial concerned were the families and friends of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. The families of the victims were probably the most interested in the long eleven month trial. They had to patiently wait around for the verdict and they all wanted O.J. to be punished for what they believed he did. The second most important key public is O.J. Simpson’s family and friends. He was the one main suspect, and everyone he cared about was awaiting the verdict. They had to sit around and watch him run from the police during a speed chase on TV, and they had to pray he wasn’t guilty. Lastly, I think the entire population of America at the time were huge key publics. Although the case didn’t necessarily involve them in anyway, they helped make the trial as huge as it was. If people weren’t constantly watching the trial on TV or were concerned about it at all, it would not have been as big of a deal. They were the key to the popularity of it
As a crime scene investigator, there are duties that have to be met and a job that has to get done. Part of this job includes putting together reliable evidence, and making a list of suspects. As an investigator my job as of right now, is to find evidence to use against Orenthal James Simpson in the prosecution of the murder of his wife Nicole Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. On June 12, 1994, around 10:15 P.M., Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman were brutally murdered at her house on 875 S. Bundy in Brentwood, California (Linder).
DNA blood evidence, spouse abuse, and found objects on Simpson’s property prove him guilty of the murders of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman. Simpson took away two lives that will never be able to be brought back; this was all due to the fact that race was brought into the case. Murder is murder, it does not change just because someone is defined differently by their skin color, there should be equal punishments to all races and individuals. OJ Simpson might have wrongfully outsmarted the court; however, he was not witty enough to prevent what the future had in store for
During the trial and the prosecution of O. J. Simpson, there were many variables in this case that did not add up. Several pieces of evidence were mismanaged during the analyzation of the crime scene
O.J. Simpson was born July 9, 1947 in San Francisco, California. He is the son of Eunice Simpson and Jimmy Lee Simpson. He is also the brother of three other siblings. O.J. was raised in the Potrero Hill Housing projects for low income families. When O.J. was just a toddler his father left his mother to raise four children on her own causing her to work more hours to
It was an argumentative and extremely controversial case that was converted to make people focus on race and tactic. In fact, within it’s popularity “the trial featured virtually uninterrupted news coverage and analysis” (Boan 1). O.J. Simpson (being a celebrity) created a spotlight for himself, and all of America was captivated to see if “the black man had the power and fame to fight back and win in court” (“If it Doesn’t Fit, You Must Acquit 1). Across the nation people became impassioned with Simpson’s case and it became “one of the most celebrated criminal trials in American history” (‘O.J. Simpson Trial 1). It’s popularity captured and brought to the surface many injustices that people faced legally. Effects similar to race were circumstantial through the people, and many African Americans appreciated the attention these topics were receiving. Reverse discrimination subsequently played a role in the case; opposing opinions ransacked the idea of Simpson’s innocence. Conflicting parties believed “O.J. [did] not indicate what [was] going on in the criminal justice system” (Levin 2). There was an excessive pushe to blame the case on race and people started to think there was no racial demeanor, race will not always work as a benefit or prove to be justified. Along with all the commotion “[m]any television networks devoted long stretches of time to speculation about the case and public opinion of it” (“O.J. Simpson Trial” 4). Credible viewpoints from both sides made the O.J. simpson case one for the people, inquisitively serving as entertainment for all of
The next process in the Justice system, a Grand Jury indictment, was interrupted. OJ Simpson hired a top notch team of defense and appellate lawyers to defend him in this case and they were able to get the Grand Jury dismissed from this case due to the massive media coverage. They claimed that the jury was prejudiced toward the defendant because of the readily available information about the case. In lieu of the Grand Jury trial a probable cause hearing was conducted. With that, the judge in this hearing felt that enough evidence did exist for a criminal trial and OJ Simpson was arraigned on July 29th 1994. At his arraignment OJ pleaded not guilty, specifically stating that he was “one hundred percent not guilty”.
Twenty two years ago, football star, O.J. Simpson, was put on trial for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Despite the fact that he was found not guilty, some still believe he is guilty of these murders. The evidence from the trial, however, proves that O.J. Simpson is innocent and did not kill Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. O.J. Simpson was born in 1947 in San Francisco, California. "He became a college football star at USC, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1968, and later enjoyed a record-setting career in the NFL".
Cuba Gooding, Jr.’s role in the new anthology series “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson” broke him mentally, the lead actor revealed.
Orenthal James Simpson, or O.J., or “The Juice,” as some people knew him by, was a case of “from rags to riches.” Simpson grew up in the projects of San Francisco and in his early teenage years, joined a gang and was incarcerated. He attended City College of San Francisco from 1965-66 where he played football and was named to the Junior College All-American Team as a running back. From there, he was awarded an athletic scholarship to the University of Southern California—the place where O.J. Simpson’s success story began.
