According to the Strengths Finder survey my five greatest strengths are Positivity, Achiever, Connectedness, Strategic and Relator. Based on my personal strengths as Positivity, I have an enthusiasm that is contagious (Gallup, 2000, 2006-2012). This saying that I am a very upbeat person who can get others excited about what they are going to do (Gallup, 2000, 2006-2012). I have often been told, where did you get all of that energy? People really enjoy my presence. I think very highly of myself and of others when I gingerly juggle my job or studies. Life is good when you begin loving whatever it is that you do and giving 100% when you are engaged in something. This is something that indicates what will or should take place for the shift. I enjoy partnering with people who rely on me to identify critical as well as recurring sequences of events, facts, or data (Gallup, 2000, 2006-2012). As a Relator, I enjoy close relationship with others. It seems to me, I am the person; people always come to for advice. This takes place on the job, at home or in my personal life. People always come to me for advice. I believe they trust in me to answer most of their personal and professional problems. This type of relationship makes me feel good about myself. Being asked for guidance uplifts me, it gives measures to the meaning to my life (Gallup, 2000, 2006-2012). In my opinion, I believe organizations can better develop and utilize the strengths of their employees through strength training. I believe to get the most effective job done, employers must come together to generate an action plan which will include all of their employees through a professional training agent. Most employees do not know of the strengths they have unless they have been through some type of training. We all are born with talents and abilities. Sometimes it will take just a little pushing towards the right direction. Some might call it …show more content…
When I managed, I utilized every department as much as needed. This gives them a sense of purpose. It really makes them feel important, and they begin to see things from a different angle. This will also look good for them based upon their annual review. As the employer develops training for the employees, employees abilities will start to really pick up on the strengths; I believe positive results will begin to show through the first week of operations. The employee’s attitude will change; they will become motivated, with enthusiasm and will enjoy coming to work. I believe some of the potential benefits of having a strength- based organization are happy employees, better productivity, employee retention and profitability according to Gallup Inc. Organizations will have a chance of providing the best services and products based on employee’s strengths and talents. I believe once employees are aware of their strengths, they have the chance to utilize their strengths six times, and are more likely to be more actively involved in their occupational role rather than those that do not recognize strengths (Gallup, 2000,
Establishing team development, team empowerment, employees joining forces with management to cut costs, self-directed teams, shared fate, incremental progress, and open and timely information increase the employees feeling of commitment to the company and help them strive to better the company, themselves and the environment. Effectively having happy, empowered, employees will increase the value of the company in the present and the future. (Thompson, 2012)
The reason behind this is that people have a higher level of confidence and their self-assurance increases when they know their strengths. Also, people are more likely to succeed in their work and feel happier to do their job, when they use their best strengths in an efficient way.

After taking the VIA character strengths survey, I found that i am great with teamwork, I love humor and everything surrounding it, I have a sense of humility, I appreciate beauty and/or excellence, and I’m creative. I strongly believe all of these are accurate because I receive comments on my strengths frequently. From previous grade levels, teachers have expressed that I work well in groups, whether I’m leading and taking action or just a member of a project group. There’s also something that gives me great pleasure when I see someone laughing or smiling because of me or a good laugh with friends which makes all worries seem to temporally melt away. When I make someone laugh it makes me feel as if I’ve earned that person’s respect to furthermore build a relationship. Besides humor, I sometimes take a few seconds out of my day to deeply analyze the beauty of a flower or simply ask myself unusual

The benefits of empowering the employees are obvious. With this policy it became possible for employees to recognize areas that might need improved that management might have missed. I like to think I have many strengths. After review of my character/ personality test, I can see what they are. I am a task-oriented leader, which drives me to finish a project. I have a strong individual work ethic, which allows me to be responsible and not rely on others. I am good at building and leading
I often look into my strengths and weaknesses and debate on whether I should focus on what skills have placed me in the position I am currently in or focus on skills I perceive needed to get me where I want to be in the future. According to (Drucker, 2005), individuals should not focus on trying to strengthen skills that they limited on but to focus on areas of strength. I believe this holds true if your strengths are in areas your career sights are focused on. I also believe that as an individual advances through an organization, if he/she has glaring deficiencies in a specific core competency skill attention is needed to address those limitations or career limitations are set on the individual’s career.
The more training given to employees, the more committed they will be to the organization. Effective training program can lead to greater employee commitment and less employee turnover and hence more stable workforce.
Organization’ success depends on their employees. The Organization can achieve their objectives from the employees. So it is necessary to have mentally and physically strong people in an Organization.
In order to become a better employee, co-worker, and manager, I must first understand the strengths and weaknesses that are brought into the organization by myself and others. In doing so, I can utilize my strengths and improve or complement my areas of weakness by leveraging the strengths of others to improve the health and productivity of the organization.

Of course strengths matter, but their real value only comes when they are applied to the things that matter. In his book: “The Effective Executive“, Peter Drucker suggested consideration of the following:
correctly administered and functioning on their own. Patients and understanding must be displayed as new employees are brought on board and setbacks happen. The worst actions an organization can take are to stop embracing the free thinking of their employees and to discontinue training. Organization must keep their workforce engaged. As Gilbert-Jamison (n.d.) wrote “Bottom-line, creating and sustaining a culture of excellence cannot be achieved without fully engaged employees who feel a part of the organization, and that they are truly valued contributors to the success of the organization.” Organizations must support their teams consistently, provide ample training to new employees, and follow up with continuous training to keep the employee engaged. Support from all areas and a collaborative environment must be established to embrace creative thinking. With patients and time, the organization will become self-managed through employee empowerment.
