Recruitment and Selection in Business
In this assignment I will be demonstrating the way in which two businesses plan their recruitment and selection process. The two businesses I have chosen to speculate are Toys ‘R’ Us and in contrast I have chosen Hublot. I have chosen to write about these two contrasting businesses because they can show two different approaches to the recruitment and selection process.
Recruitment Planning:
The first stage of recruitment that you may be aware of it as an applicant. This is after the organisation has placed the advertisement and you have applied for it, but a lot of work happens before this stage. Part of recruitment planning involves the organisation working out if they need to recruit anyone at

In some cases Large companies like Toys ‘R’ Us are known to re hire ex staff as they already have had the training needed for the job in hand, this saves costs and time in the recruiting process for a given vacancy within the work place. On the other hand, internal recruitment for a company like Hublot which have a much smaller opportunity window of jobs. So this will mean that internal recruitment is key for a smaller company, this is because their budgets would be a lot lower then large corporations with a much smaller specialised group of candidates. This also means that it may be harder for them to fill vacancies as there may not be candidates with sufficient skills. In most cases a company like Hublot will promote workers to keep them in the company and hire new workers at a low level. Cost and Time Considerations of External Sourcing:
External sourcing of applicants means the process of sourcing employees form outside the organisation. Recruiting new employee, whether it is being done directly or through an agency, takes a long time and can require a lot of money. This is because time is needed to outline the vacancy and the type of person required, for the advertising and then the selection, process itself. In addition, if an applicant is ready working for another organisation, they will have to work their notice. The amount of notice required will depend on the
The United Nations is an organization established 24 October 1945. It was a replacement for the League of Nations. The UN was created following the Second World War to prevent another such conflict. The organization is financed by giving its member states a substantial fee. Its objectives include maintaining international peace and security, promoting human rights, fostering social and economic development, protecting the environment, and providing humanitarian aid in cases of famine, natural disaster, and armed conflict.

This is beneficial to the business so you don’t spend time and money training new employees, meaning that those who are recruited internally are able to get on without needed any form of training that would be as time consuming in addition to the process being cost effective. Another benefit of internal recruitment is that there are opportunities for promotion, this means that it will motivate the employees to work harder which allows the business to run even more effectively. In addition to that, you know that by promoting that someone, they will be perfectly suited for the role in
Employment agency is another option for external recruitments. Companies can simply provide job description to agencies where vacancies will be introduced to people who are looking for jobs.
Energy keeps all living organisms alive, as they need a continual supply of energy to function in order to survive. Some of these processes are continuous such as, metabolism, which is the chemical reactions which occur in the body, these occur by using or releasing energy from chemical substances. Another continuous process which use energy is the transporting of molecules in order for them to break down, and to build new ones. The breakdown of large molecules into their simpler forms to release energy is known as catabolism, for example, when glucose is used in a cell to release energy. And the opposite reaction, is called anabolism. This is when energy is used to build complex structures from simple cells, for example, tissue growth and
External recruitment is when job vacancies is filled by a non-existing employee (a person from outside of the organisation).

Traditionally, nutrition programs were targeted to the indigent and poor populations in developing countries. Many of today's Americans are malnourished also, but they are inundated with unhealthy foods and require a multidisciplinary approach to nutrition education. What would be the three most important points to include in a public nutrition program? Provide current literature to support your answer and include two nutritional education community resources.
The recruitment phase involves identifying and hiring the best suited candidate from the labour market either within the organisation or outside the organisation as fast as possible and for the least resources. Recruitment can be both internal and external. Internal recruitment involves evaluating existing employees’ skills and determining whether their skills are appropriate for new vacancies within the organisation. External recruitment involves identifying potential candidates outside of the organisation and determining whether they have the relevant skills and/or education to fill a job post (Business Dictionary, 2015).
Recruiting inside the organisation has both pros and cons, some of the benefits would be knowing what the person is already capable of in the job and if they are open to learning new things, how well they do in their position already and how motivated they are towards their job. There are also negatives about recruiting from inside the work place, the employee could feel overly comfortable and friendly in the job and with their colleagues resulting in them not being motivated to do work.

Employment agencies are intermediaries between employers and job seekers advantages of which are, the recruitment agency will conduct all the initial interviews and tests and only the successful candidates are forwarded to the employer for the job ADDIN EN.CITE Jason20021197(Jason, Gupta, & Delery, 2002)1197119717Jason, D. Disadvantages for this method are, since the HR manager will be using an external firm there will be costs incurred by the company, the agencies can be pricey. The agency may spend more time trying to get the perfect candidates and still not find any and this will be a loss in terms of money and time wasted to the company ADDIN EN.CITE
