Thank you for this National Honor Society opportunity. I feel extremely privileged. And, I think my qualifications include strong work ethic, drive, a high standard of academic integrity, and a calling to service and leadership in my community. In addition of these qualities, I am an active participant within the extracurriculars in my school. While in 9th grade, and 10th grade, I participated in many activities, as indicated in the packet attached to this essay. And, outside of school, I enjoy going to piano and art lessons. Through the collected efforts of these activities, I have gained crucial knowledge and other attributes that helped me contribute to society, and to become a better leader. Including the array of clubs I engage in, I also enjoy making a good impact on everything I do. That is why I find contentment in taking on a position of importance; …show more content…
I have provided this talent towards multiple school and community functions, including musicals, and various out of school commitments. Additionally, I have created artwork to be auctioned off during the Black Forest Club raffle, and painted a mural for the Sinnamahoning Nature Center. I also help out my church extensively with benefit dinners, and I will provide my singing talents to them whenever they need them; I was even asked to join their church board as a Junior Member. Through these activities, I have gained crucial skills to interact efficiently with others, and learned how to meet others needs as well. Involving yourself in church activities can help you learn these important skills, as well as empathy and modesty; as you see your own community and yourself grow. And by interacting with the public through artwork is In awards, I have gathered a large amount; in and out of
It is an honor to be chosen as a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society. Academics, leadership skills, service abilities, and character are four principal parts of a superior student. I believe that I am inclusive of all these aspects needed to become a part of this prestigious group. Becoming a member of this organization is important to me, because it will help me get into an excellent college and push me to work harder in school.
National Honor Society is a nationwide organization for high school students, which was established in 1921 by Principal Edward S. Rynearson. NHS was originally founded on the principles to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, promote responsibility and leadership, and develop character in students. NHS is a wonderful opportunity for me and I believe that I would be an excellent member able to present valuable contributions to the program.
I would be delighted to be a member of the National Honor Society for a number of reasons. One of the main reasons being that NHS gives you a better chance of being accepted into a quality college as well as making you eligible for certain scholarships. I have been taught that being a part of NHS is a privilege and special honor that can only be awarded through hard work and success. Knowing this I have worked hard to be eligible to become a member. I believe I should be a member because of my distinction in leadership, scholarship, and community service.
The National Honor Society is not only a privilege to be a part of, but is an outstanding achievement for the person. To be a member of the National Honor Society, I believe I must have characteristics such as: being a role model and having leadership, superb academic standings, and an overall character that will encourage others. I want to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I qualify for the characteristics I have listed above. As for being a role model and having leadership, I have never been in any kind of trouble, and I am always open to help anyone who needs it, including schoolwork or personal matters. My grades are also up to par with academic standards. I have been on the Honor Roll for as long as I can remember,
Being eligible to become a member of the National Honor Society is a great honor. Becoming a member will open opportunities for me to grow as a person and help me reach my future career goals. I believe that I will be able to contribute to our NHS program in the additional three pillars of service, leadership, and character.
One of my goals that I set for high school as a freshman was to be inducted into the National Honor Society, now I have the chance to hopefully fulfill this by getting accepted. I believe that through my high school career so far I have exhibited character most accurately according to NHS standards. I am a student who takes pride in being conscientious of my decisions, whether it be to finish homework when I would much rather watch television or to refrain from activities that have a greater chance of negative consequences than positive ones. Furthermore, I plan to retain these character traits for the rest of my life, especially in my future career. Concerning my future career, I plan to achieve at least a master’s degree in whatever I
Why should I be allowed to become a member of the National Honor Society at Franklinton High School? I’ve contemplated this question over the last two weeks, and I have arrived at the following reasons I would be a good and capable member who would make an excellent contribution.
Ever since my elementary years, I have taken my education and the work I do seriously. My dedication to the qualities of scholarship, character, leadership, and service have helped me during my high school experience as high school was a eye-opener for a young girl with big dreams. A quote that is to mind when I think about what dedication to scholarship and character means to me is one by St. Jerome; “Good, better, best. Never let it rest. 'Til your good is better and your better is best.” I have always gone past the point that is the best I can do in my academics accomplishments, building my character, being a leader, and helping others. I take pride in the fact that I work hard, push myself, and excel
My entire academic career i’ve demonstrated recognizable qualities. From a very young age I’ve been a hard-working student whose learning never ended when the school day did. I racked up awards and medals wherever I went inside and outside of the classroom in all subjects. I’ve always been able to stay on top of my school work and maintain a balance without falling behind on my responsibilities. For these reasons and many more, I strongly believe I would make an exceptional addition to the National Honor Society.
When receiving the informatory papers of the qualification to National Honors Society, I was nothing more than thrilled. The name and impact this organization has on our society leaves hope and happiness all around. I believe my acceptance would be a great choice in helping to advance the work we do in our school along with Huntingdon County.
No matter what church we went to, I was always heavily involved. Newspring was a breath of fresh air, because there were so many people, I could just do what i was gifted in. One day, I showed up to clean after a baptism sunday. They had already finished as I was just arriving. I asked if i could help with anything else and they gave me some care cards to enter in. I became an intern. Then I got an opportunity to come on staff and assist several men, and now
I have been in National Honor Society for a few months now and have participated in a couple of community service projects. The community service project that I'm most proud of and has had the most significant takeaway for me is when we helped gave food and clothes to the people that stayed in the community. Taking Care of Our Own Day is an event where people come and get clothes and food for the family. As a volunteer I helped carry people's bags of food while they went around looking for what they needed. This event is done yearly and each year we have more people that come and receive our charity. This experience affected me in a great deal. It not only showed me that I was blessed for having food to eat and clothes to wear but also that
Throughout my experience with my hometown church, I prepared and instructed religious lessons that were entertaining, but more importantly insightful to the youth of the church. Through acting, musicianship, and artistic qualities and strengths, our youth consistently performs for the congregation to express our faith and development as the future generation of this country. Ultimately, I believe I have been able to contribute in a innovative way. I believe my contribution have been informative and revolutionizing through a variety of entertaining and attentive methods. I wholeheartedly believe that my time as a leader in my hometown will eventually reduce the likelihood of these pupils committing wrongful acts and will increase the likelihood of these pupils to pursue a further commitment to religion and
I am adept in missions, community outreach, and mentoring new Christians. Moreover, while my on-the-job experience has afforded me a well-rounded skill set, including first-rate strategic planning and program management abilities, I excel at: working with youth, young adults, and older adults as individual groups and a collective body. Last but not least I am not afraid to preach the word of God.
At a young age, I’ve been very active in my Vietnamese church community. I’ve danced for special church occasions, special Vietnamese occasions, singing in the youth and adult choirs, participate in plays which express the culture of the Vietnamese people, and plays that teach about the Catholic religion. I have recently became a teacher’s assistant and joined a church youth group. Throughout elementary school, middle school, and high school, I’ve actively participated in these activities and continue even up to now.
