National Honor Society Research Paper

Though my primary goal is to ameliorate my leadership skills, there are many reasons for my wanting to become a member of the National Honor Society. Not only would my membership appeal to colleges to whom I may be applying to, it would challenge me in such a way as to further develop valuable life skills, such as responsibility and character. Any collective efforts or activities made would allow me to build teamwork capabilities, hone project management aptitude, and make friends. My acceptance into the NHS would also guarantee future access to applications for the NHS Scholarship Program, which will financially aid me in entering the college of my choice.

Being a part of National Honor Society means that I am held at a higher standard than most students. I am to uphold the four pillars of National Honor Society, which are service, scholarship, leadership, and character. All four aspects of NHS have been important in my life and have shaped me into who I am today. Being involved with and serving my community has given me a better understanding of the needs of a community. I have had the opportunities to help people, which brings me joy, and gives me a way to reach out to my surrounding area. Being chosen by my teachers and other leaders to be a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society is a great honor for me. It means that I have achieved my goal of demonstrating my determination and willingness to help people and serve the community. I believe that I am able to become a valuable member of the NHS because I am hard working, reliable and I possess all the qualities required by this prestigious organization, such as scholarship, leadership, character, and service abilities.

I believe I qualify for membership in the National Honor Society for the reason that I love helping out with school activities and non-school activities. I find pleasure in helping out in my community and being an exceptional example for kids that may look up to me or are younger than me.

National Honor Society is known for having extraordinary students whom possess strong leadership, constant determination, and also structured character. Though there are various students who have what it takes to become a member of the National Honor Society I feel that I should be one of them. From the beginning of my Freshmen year, I had a strong desire to find my path early in life and choose a career I would like to pursue as time went on. Thank you for giving me a chance to join the National Honor Society (NHS) to further my current and future learning endeavors. Being nominated due to having a high grade point average opened my mind further into how important it is to follow through with learning through and beyond the school and the benefits those grades can get me, such as joining the NHS. While I am aware that school is about far more than learning for grades alone, I am overjoyed with this chance.

Being inducted into the National Honor Society means access to scholarships, attending community service projects, and becoming a part of an elite group of peers. To me however, NHS is more than that. Being a member of the National Honor Society means joining with others in representing an idea. This idea is to better oneself, the community, and others. As a member, one would demonstrate this idea in how they approach every situation they encounter. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society would mean that I, myself, exhibit this idea in the way I live my life. That is the goal I strive for.

One of my goals that I set for high school as a freshman was to be inducted into the National Honor Society, now I have the chance to hopefully fulfill this by getting accepted. I believe that through my high school career so far I have exhibited character most accurately according to NHS standards. I am a student who takes pride in being conscientious of my decisions, whether it be to finish homework when I would much rather watch television or to refrain from activities that have a greater chance of negative consequences than positive ones. Why should I be allowed to become a member of the National Honor Society at Franklinton High School? I’ve contemplated this question over the last two weeks, and I have arrived at the following reasons I would be a good and capable member who would make an excellent contribution.

I would like to become a National Honor Society member because I believe it will open me up to several opportunities in my community and denote all the hard work and effort I have put into my school.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The National Honor Society is an organization for those students who demonstrate an enthusiasm for scholarship by maintaining academic excellence. In addition, the students must demonstrate the qualities of service, leadership, and character. The criteria for members are as follows: 1. Membership in the National Honor Society is open to eligible 10th, 11th and 12th grade students. 2. Members will be selected on the basis of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. A Faculty Council will review all prospective members. 3. Members must be active in at least one (1) school sponsored activity. 4. National Honor Society members or inductees will be expected to demonstrate that they are active in at least one school

So you ask me why should I be able to join the National Honor Society. Well let me tell you why. Society always characterizes people based on race, income and etc, but a person that looks different than others can be someone great if they are given a chance. So let not my race, my income or my personality changed the way you view me as a possible member of this organization. I may have not been in many clubs like others have because of economical reasons. How would you like it to be work everyday with your family before school and after and even when you have break or off for privileges? No, it wouldn’t be nice but I have to do and I also have to maintain my grades in the 90’s because I had to mature quickly as a child. At the beginning I

I feel I should be a part of the National Honor Society because I show a willingness to help others. I try to the best of my ability to be a leader, and I am creative as well as keep a positive attitude so others may as well. I wish to be a part of the National Honor Society so I can take these skills and help others who need my help in order for them to follow on the path to become great members of society.

The National Honor Society is a prestigious group of students, and is is quite the accomplishment to be affiliated with this organization. It would be an honor for any scholar to be a part of. The group learns how to become fantastic leaders and beneficial members of their community. Each member has to excel in four areas: character, leadership, service, and scholarship. I believe that I demonstrate these four qualities within and outside of school. If given the chance, I would be elated and committed to learn how to a difference and impact on my local community and classmates

Over the previous years, I grew bored with routine. I didn’t involve myself with school activities and stayed home for most of my days. My parents rarely planned any activities for me and my sisters. I had stopped expecting them to involved themselves with my school life. I didn’t even mind when they wouldn’t come for my band concerts. It’s hard being a child of immigrant parents. There are situations they would never be able to understand. The sole advice they can give me is about hard work. They want to push me and my sisters to our limits so we could have the better life that they never had. From them, I learned life lessons of self-sacrifice and determination of making things work, despite the roadblocks and challenges.
