When we could get everyone rounded up and on the same schedule, my parents, brothers and I would pack up and go on our one “big” vacation of the summer. When I was8 one, we went to Mount Rushmore and witnessed the fireworks display. At the age of two, we were at the “grandaddy” of them all, Cheyenne Frontier Days. In 2003, I was three, we went spelunking in caves to explore Ruby Fall, Tennesse. I remember nothing about these vacations, except what I was told years later about them. However, when I was the ripe young age of four, my family went on vacation to Upper Peninsula Michigan. That vacation is, to this day, my favorite one we ever took. This is probably due to it being the very first vacation that I can actually remember. Over the years we have traveled to many different places, but the vacation to Michigan is by far my most memorable experience. The events that occurred on this trip instilled a sense of adventure and curiosity into me. When we traveled, we did not fly, go by train, or stay in a fancy hotel. Nope, not my family. We drove everywhere, even all the way up to Michigan. We were in a truck that seated exactly six people, not necessarily a comfortable experience. In addition to all of that, we stayed in our camper for the whole vacation, practically living on top of each other. Good thing that we really love each other, huh? The trip was during the first week of July, so on the Fourth of July my parents decided that we would go to the Soo Locks in Sault
My family trips are full of fun and crazy adventures. My first family trip that I remember is my family road trip. We went to the Wisconsin Dells. Afterwards we drove to Minnesota. I almost got lost there because I was looking at something and my family started walking away and I didn’t know. I ended up finding them after I had been scared to death. In May I’m going back to Minnesota to go The Mall of America. In August I’m going to Hawaii. I kind of scared to fly over the ocean but I think I’ll have fun.
I remember the trip like it was yesterday. It was the summer time on 2012, and it was very hot like summertime usually are. We took the trip 5 weeks before August because that was when I started school. The trip was for my mom, and aunts birthday because they like to celebrate their birthdays together every since they were younger. Their birthdays are close by each other, but not in the same month, and my grandma would always celebrate their birthdays together, so they stuck with that. The trip was planned for my mom, aunt, big cousins, and all of their kids to go, and we would go out to waterparks, and
When I was around 6 or 7 years old, my family decided to go to Yosemite National Park over the summer. We went on Saturday and during the morning so we could get there early. After about 30 minutes on the road, we stopped at a resting area. We ate there for about 15 minutes and used the restroom. My dad told us that if we wanted to get there early, we had to go right then. My family and I were back on the road and arrived there in 2 hours. I slept the whole way so I couldn't watch the environment as we passed by. When we got there, we entered the park and ate. I was so excited that I ran ahead of my family. I could feel the cool breeze and smell the fresh tree like scent as I ran. My brother asked if we could split into groups and my dad agreed. We split into groups and we started our adventure. I was with my grandma and my sister. The other group was my dad, my mom, and my brother. We also decided to meet at the a certain point at sunset.
When I went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee I was with my parents, grandparents, my brother, and my cousin Savannah. I got to go to all the little shops, Dig through rocks, and I remember honking through this tunnel we drove in. I guess it was tradition. I remember going to a mini amusement park where we rode go carts. I also remember going to the Titanic museum. I remember touching the ice wall and seeing all the sunken objects. I also remember seeing the grand staircase. I remember it feeling super heavy and emotional
When I was in 7th grade, the whole entire grade suggested that we should go on a camping trip. We had many places to choose from, but we all agreed on going to Yosemite. The reason we chose Yosemite is because we wanted people to stay away from their video games and electronics for a couple of days and actually enjoy what beautiful things God had made and what the outside world has to offer. It was an amazing trip and we did have many unforgettable memories. But one memory I had was on the second day of the trip, it was the day we started to do activities with our group leader. We hiked up a waterfall, played some games, and also took lots of pictures. It was a very tiring day and when we were finally done for the day, It was
This year, during Spring break my family and I ventured to California, the land of Starbucks and In-N-Out Burger. Our trip started out at Sea World, and my younger brother insisted we go to the Shark Encounter exhibit. Once we arrived my parents let my brother
After my trip to the Bahamas I knew that I was lucky to have to opportunity to be able to go on this trip with my family. Even though i had a couple of arguments while I was on this trip I very much enjoyed it. One day I hope to go on another trip like this, maybe even on the same
On the summer of 2013 my family and I went on a trip to kentucky lasting for three days and two nights. We went on a houseboat on top of lake cumberland. I went with my grandparents my mom and dad and my aunt and uncle.
My favorite vacation, so far, is one I went on in September 2015 with my friends Alissa and Jaidah. We all share fandom interests. On the weekend of September 19, my brother went away to spend his birthday with my dad. My mom shook me awake and informed me I could bring two friends along to a room in the Dells that we would be occupying. Almost immediately I thought of the duo. I ran downstairs and texted both of them while packing a bag. They texted back not too long after, and I told them my mom and I would pick them up anywhere from 10-11 that Saturday morning. We picked up Alissa and she tried to direct us to Jaidah’s house, but she wasn’t thorough with her
To kick off summer for my family and I, we went to Disneyland for three days on memorial day weekend. Considering that I haven’t been there since I was six, it was very thrilling. We went to both California Adventure and Disneyland within those days. Around the Fourth of July, my family and I went to Ohio to visit my grandparents to celebrate their anniversary and the Fourth of July. Every year, my Uncle has a party for the 4th, but this year it was extra special since it was my grandparents 70th anniversary. I had the pleasure of taking pictures with a polaroid camera and making the album
As a child, vacations were few and far between. Having three other siblings and a single parent, trips rarely fit into the budget. As I got older, military service and my professional career allowed me to travel to a variety of places. I have been to the east and west coasts, the Gulf of Mexico, Bermuda, United Kingdom, Germany, and many places in between. However, my most memorable trip was to Fairbanks, Alaska to visit my oldest brother Keith. While I was there the sun shined for approximately twenty hours a day, the mosquitos were unlike anything I had ever experienced, and we went fishing on the Yukon River.
The best vacation my family ever took was one that we didn’t stress on planning. My husband and I kept it simple. We packed our bags early and hid
On July 23, 2015 I experienced something that was extremely life changing for me. This day I accomplished something I have been dreaming about doing for over 10 years. The day I got to see my favorite band live in concert was the day that I will never forget. The goal for a lot of people is to see their favorite band in person and to say I got to do that is amazing to me. My experience seeing my favorite band live will be remembered forever as being one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life.
Can you recall the greatest experience of your life? Football has been a love of mine since I was a undersized kid. I really grew attached to a team called the Washington Redskins. A lot of my sundays were spent in front of the television gazing as the Redskins put in work. On September 24th my dad came home with pale papers in his rugged hand. He placed the papers in my grip which were tickets to go see the Redskins play the Chiefs in Kansas City on October 2nd.
People always make mistakes that can give them valuable lessons. More lessons come from their childhood because people are not old enough to think carefully. One of the most unforgettable experience happened to me when I was 10 years old. It gave me a lesson that would go with me forever. This moment involves three parts: “rescuing” my best friend from his locked house, exchanging a new pair of shoes for ice creams, and listening to my mom’s lecture.
