Fidel Castro And The Cuban Revolution

The infamous Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro was born on a farm on August 13,1926 and he is currently 89 years old. He was the third child out of six. His full name was Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz Fidel Castro. He was not born into a poor family, his father Angel happened to be a very wealthy sugar plantation owner. At the time Cuba’s economy was not thriving, but Castro still grew up in wealthy conditions. He went to a private boarding school to receive his education. There he became a star student and excelled in not only academics but athletics too. Later on he went to law school where he became very well known and also found a passion for politics. He wasn’t famous for doing phenomenal in school, but for leading the Cuban Revolution, Bay of Pigs Invasion, and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
The Cuban Revolution was a revolt against the U.S.-backed Cuban President put together by no other than Fidel Castro himself. This revolution against President Fulgencio Batista started July 1953. This went on for about six years “until the rebels finally ousted Batista on 1 January 1959, replacing his government with a revolutionary socialist state” (Wikipedia). The rebels or the Movement organization later recreated themselves with communist guidelines. On October 1965, Cuba officially became a Communist Party. Castro ruled the Communist Party for a while, but when he stepped down his brother Raúl took over and is still ruling to this day. The Cuban Revolution had a very powerful effects
