For once me and family were all available that day to see each other and we went there to eat and honestly it could've been better, We have been there plenty of times before and normally the food is good but that day it was a little off . For my multicultural experience, I went to an Easter Sunday non-denominational Christian sermon at one of the most widely known churches in my Oklahoma City, Crossings Community Church. The service consisted of many elements, from live orchestral and choral music to the incorporation of multimedia video streaming. The service lasted an hour at most but was jam packed with information. Although the service took place on Easter Sunday, the sermon topic was “love,” not a stereotypical presentation about how Jesus rose again from the dead, and all the other Easter related theme’s that might be expected, which was actually rather refreshing. Overall, the whole service was much more interesting than I thought it would be.

This trip to the all-you-can-eat buffet helped me pick out foods that tasted good. It showed me how dishes were presented. The tables that were set were very elegant and the atmosphere was welcoming. The foods were delicious. They had foods from ice cream to burgers.

Relatedness is the socially recognized ties that connect people in a variety of different ways. It attempts to understand and record the ways in which people in specific ethnographic contexts articulate and engage in the relationships that are important to them in everyday life. Relatedness can take many forms such as friendship, marriage, parenthood, shared links to a common ancestor, workplace association, just to name a few. These forms can be shared via many different means as well. They can be shared physically by a body substance such as blood, semen, genes, or mother’s milk. It can be through spiritual means such as soul, spirit, nurturance, or love. You can also have cases where more than one substance is shared.

For my Cultural Encounter project, I visited the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA). The museum hosts an exhibit called “Art of The Ancient Americas”, which consists of remnants from the indigenous peoples of North, Central, and South America. These artifacts showcase the unique styles, intricate technique, and profound symbolism prevalent in indigenous American artwork, and give valuable insight into the culture and history of these ancient peoples.

As we began to evolve into knowing who we are inside, we begin to realize that our self awareness is distorted by our strong sense of belonging to a culture we can identify with. The culture in which we grew up in, share a common belief and assumption and because of those shared beliefs it also can distort our thinking process to listen, hear or to fully understand other cultures that we can't identify

We ate Souvlaki Pita; it was like a taco made of pork, Gyro Pita; it was another burrito, but made of lamb, we had a soup of cramp sticks and lemon, it was delicious, Spanakopita; it was a dish made of spinach and grapes leaves, i didn't like this dish, it have a bitter taste, at the end we got falafels appetizer, that was crispy vegetables and Keftedes that were meat balls.
