Frýdlant
 
 
(frd´länt) (KEY) , Ger. Friedland, town, N Czech Republic, in Bohemia, near the German and Polish borders, at the foot of the Sudetes Mts. A railroad junction, Frýdlant has breweries and factories that manufacture textiles and metal products. Its castle, now a museum, was the seat (1625–34) of the duchy of Friedland, which was awarded to the German imperial general Wallenstein in 1625.
