Explanation of Solution
A skeletal muscle fiber is a thin, elongated cylinder and is surrounded by a cell membrane called as sarcolemma. The satellite cells are the muscle precursor cells located above the sarcolemma and below the basal lamina. The myofibrils are the threadlike strands within the muscle fibers. Actin is a thin filament and myosin is the thick filament of myofibrils. The sarcomere includes the Z-line, H-line, M-line, I-band, and A-band. Sarcoplasmic reticulum serves as a storage site for calcium.
