To determine:
The way in which fluid balance and the electrolyte balance are interdependent.
Introduction:
Fluid balance or water balance is the ability of an organism to maintain the water concentration at the homeostatic state. Electrolyte balance is the ability of an organism to maintain the electrolytes in the body in healthy concentration.
Explanation of Solution
The fluid balance and the electrolyte balance are interdependent in nature. The electrolyte balance varies when the amount of water in which the electrolytes are dissolved in, changes. Similarly, the fluid balance also varies when the concentration of electrolytes present in the fluid, changes.
The changes in the fluid balance will impact the electrolyte balance. Equivalently, the changes that affect the electrolyte balance will impact the fluid balance, as both are interrelated to each other.
Fluid balance and the electrolyte balance are interdependent on each other as a small change in one of the constituent will impact the other equally.
