And  What would be the result?  What strategies or tactics could I have used as a leader to support that change?

Pick a previous U.S. business executive and evaluate their performance against the leadership characteristics discussed in this chapter. For the basis of this comparison, were they an effective strategic leader? Why, or why not?

In other words, leaders must assess the competence and commitment of their followers and adjust their leadership approach accordingly, whether it be directing, coaching, supporting, or delegating tasks.
