Unhurried, the mop and broom began to move away from the wall. Suddenly they started to dance, Back and forth, to and fro, and round and round. It is as if they were hearing music from some unknown place. Then, Sly pointed to the old horn hanging on the wall, and it started playing music. Sly pointed to the spoons on the table, they, began dancing like two small children. “Wonderful,” Santa said. “That is the best yet, “as he clapped his hands to the tune of the music. “When can we get started?” he asked. “We already have” Sylvester said. He again pointed toward the mop and broom, and they danced their way back to their place on the wall. Pointed at the horn, and it became silent and returned to its place on the wall. Pointing to the spoons, they returned to their place on the table. “We will call this lesson number one,” the wizard said. “But, we will not concern ourselves with dancing mops and brooms, only with getting from here to there, and back, …show more content…
“For instance, if you want to be standing by the Christmas tree to deliver presents. Or standing by the table ready to consume the cookies and milk the children left for you.” “Or back in the sleigh on top of the house.” “Touching the left side of your nose with a finger on your left hand will take you to your destination.” “The right finger to the right side of the nose returns you to your previous location.” “When you travel this way,” he continued. “You will not get hurt, or stuck in a chimney or window.” “However, a word of caution,” he said, “You must never, never use this in a lighting storm.” “My great Uncle Markel did it once, and we have not seen him since.” “I have a book for you to read, and I ask you to please take care of it.,” Sly said. “It is one of my grandfather’s books, and the pages are getting old and brittle.” “I also have a special supplement for you to put in your food.” “This is a compound, that is particularly good for the brain and will help you concentrate better.” “Your wife can add it to the food as she prepares your daily meals,.” “It is a good supplement for all of us older people,” Sly continued, as he handed Santa the small pouch. “Anything you ask I will do,” said

It is generally assumed that all Romanians are liars and thieves. This is a stereotype. Yes, most of them are poor and some of them have no choice but to take things and lie. This is how some of them survive. Especially the Roma (gypsies). Most people assume the gypsies and the Romanians are one and the same when they are not. The Roma have the Romany language somewhat mixed with their home country, the ones who live in Romania mix Romanian with the Romany language. The Romanian language is a mix of Latin which dates back to the Roman times, Turkish, Greek, and Slavic languages. It also has some words that are derivative of German

Before I attended the class of cultural studies on that particular day, I already knew about what Jacinta was going to teach us in the class. She was going to cover the topic “race” in the class. According to me race basically means, a group of people sharing the same characteristics and belonging to the same part of the world.
Families were invited to take a ride around the square in a horse drawn carriage with Kris Kringle himself. Many kids stood in line with joy as they waited for their chance to tell Santa what they want for Christmas.
Parents, including John and Ruth, brought their children to the store to sit on Santa’s lap and reveal their deepest wishes for their most desired toys. The Blomquist’s toddler, Marvy, awestruck and bug-eyed by his first sight of the jolly red elf, froze in his tracks, pointed at the astounding vision, and verbalized his amazement by loudly repeating the word Jesus over and over again. Even though he amused numerous townsfolk and farm families who overheard his mistaken identification of the celebrity, at least he revealed that he came from a good Christian home. In an attempt to console and quiet her son, Ruth picked him up to no avail. Subsequently, she passed him to John, to whom the toddler clung to for security and finally settled
The school environment was measured by its implementation of the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) approach. SEL is a framework that focuses on resiliency and teaching social and emotional competencies to children and youth (Hong, Espelage, Grogan-Kaylor, and Allen-Meares, 2011). Specifically, SEL uses social skill instruction to address behavior, discipline, safety, and academics to help students become self-aware, manage their emotions, build social skills, and make positive decisions. A meta-analytic study of more than 213 maltreatment intervention programs found that SEL-implementing schools could expect better student behavior and an 11-point increase in standardized test scores (Durlak, Weissberg, Dymnicki, Taylor, and Schellinger, 2011). The affluent school with abundant resources implemented SEL to promote resiliency. The less-affluent school with limited resourced did not implement SEL; therefore, its students did not have access to any resiliency
He calls “Merry Christmas!” out to everyone on the streets. At the sight of a boy, he gives him lots of money to go buy and deliver a turkey to the Cratchits. Scrooge walks past a man he had treated poorly the other day and promises to help him. He then goes to Fred’s house. Everyone is shocked by his sudden change in attitude. The next morning, Bob arrives late to work. Acting like his old self, Scrooge pretends he is mad at him, and then tells him he is going to give him a raise and help his family. Following his promise, Scrooge adds a little Christmas spirit to each day and is a second father to Tiny Tim who lives. The story concludes with Scrooges words, “and so, as Tiny Time observed, God bless us. Everyone.”(Dickens

As the story moves along Sam out the elder in different situations to see if he would eat the green eggs and ham, but to Sam’s dismay the elder wouldn’t. Finally after trying and trying and trying Sam gets the elder to try the Green eggs and ham. One of the most popular stories by Dr. Seuss is the classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This story became so popular that Universal Studios not only picket it up for a movie, but also a whole theme for their Christmas season theme park. In this story the Grinch loathes Christmas and the who’s with every fiber of his being. The Grinch presents himself as socially cut off from the who’s down in whoville. He lives on top of Mt. Crumpit with his dog Max. All of this hate is because his heart is two sizes too small (and this time he’ll keep it off). He finally had enough of the Who’s bangboozaling and clangclangaling so he devised a plan to steal Christmas. After Santa Clause came and delivered all the presents to the houses he would sneak in, in his Santa Clause suit and steal every present, every light, every decoration, every tree, and all of the food for the feast. He even stole the roast beast! He would empty the houses one by one and he didn’t leave anything. Not even a crumb big enough for a mouse. So as he got done with emptying the houses and was about to dump everything over Crumpit he heard a noise, a weird
1. “We laughed about all the kids who believed in the Santa myth and got nothing for Christmas but a bunch of cheap plastic toys. 'Years from now, when all the junk they got is broken and long forgotton,' Dad said,'you'll still have your stars.”
