Is there a region of the country that experiences more part failures and replacements than others? i. Identify region: 1. Midwest with 260 repairs ii. How might the fleet maintenance team use the information to update its maintenance schedule? 1. This information is helpful because it provides adequate numbers of staff and supplies needed in each region to accommodate the projected number of repairs. c. Looking at the data provided I can see that the mid-western region has 260 listed reports, following close behind is the north-east with reports. The most common repair is the fuel tank sitting at 95 repairs, tire repair is at 74. For corrosion or rust I can see that the most common repair was either the wheel arch, fender, and rocker panel. 3. Outline the approach that you took to conduct the analysis. a. What queries did you use to identify trends or themes in the data? i. Select repair AS PART_REPAIR, COUNT(*) AS NUMBER_OF_REPAIRS FROM Part Maintenance GROUP BY PART_REPAIR ORDER BY NUMBER_OF_REPAIRS DESC Most repairs by region: SELECT ‘SOUTHWEST’ AS REGION COUNT(*) AS NUMBER_OF_REPAIRS FROM Parts Maintenance WHERE UPPER(state) IN (‘AZ’, ‘NM’, ‘TX’, ‘OK’) UNION SELECT ‘NORTHEAST’ AS REGION, COUNT(*) AS NUMBER _OF_REPAIRS FROM Parts Maintenance WHERE UPPER(state) IN (‘PA’, ‘NJ’, ‘NY’, ‘CT’, ‘RI’, ‘MA’, ‘VT,’ ‘ME’, ‘NH’,) UNION; SELECT ‘SOUTHEAST’ AS REGION, COUNT(*) AS NUMBER_OF_REPAIRS b. What are the benefits of using these queries to retrieve the information in a way that allows you to provide valuable information to your stakeholders?
i. The information from using these queries helps us retrieve how many repairs in each region as well as what type of repair it is, the make, model, year and body type of the vehicle that is having the repairs then they can dive further into their numbers with the pricing lists to see how much revenue that the parts maintenance is bringing in. 4.
