RE:
Anetra Henry
DATE:
23 January, 2024
(1) What did you find most interesting about Anetra Henry's (Senior Director of Strategic
Initiatives, Institute for Public Relations) background?
I think Anetra Henry has a very unique background with a lot of different responsibilities.
The most interesting one that I found out today were the student awards that she
oversees. I was unaware there are opportunities like these for students to earn extra
money and internship opportunities. I also think she is very good at using her past
experience as a student to relate and communicate with current students. Her web
series “ Diversity in the PR Classroom” is also something that struck me as a fascinating
project that I am excited to check out when I get the chance.
(2) Identify and explain one major takeaway from Anetra’s presentation on core beliefs
about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
In the presentation, Anetra talks about DEI Fatigue and how its existence is real. I
completely agree with her as I believe I have witnessed it in real life. Even though
Diversity, equity, Inclusion is extremely important and should be taken seriously, it is
important to establish clear boundaries and recognize the boundaries of the
associations you are affiliated with. It is also important to recognize sometimes the
decisions are not based on any biases even if they do not workout in your favor.

Dear Mr. Rockfish,
Thank you for speaking with me regarding the importance of Knowledge Management (KM) at GDD. Zyngier (2001) explains that knowledge and information encompass different concepts. While knowledge refers to understanding, awareness, intelligence, comprehension, and wisdom, information refers to facts, news, and definitions. Unlike information, knowledge cannot always be fully conveyed in a codified form, but it can develop through sharing prior knowledge between individuals or groups. While IT can support KM through technology, it cannot replace effective KM for the company.
Technology can support KM by facilitating the storage and dissemination of explicit knowledge, or knowledge that can be easily expressed and codified. However, much of the critically important knowledge is tacit, which is challenging to articulate and codify. Tacit knowledge capture is problematic because it often relies on personal experience and expertise, which can be difficult…

Article:
The most significant leading action the company will need to take to ensure its survival is communicating. The company will face many obstacles throughout the pandemic and it's essential for there to be open communication as it provides clarity, build relationships, defines expectations, and creates commitment. When communication isn't clear, it can lead to confusion and misinformation. Leaders and managers must be "able to receive accurate information to determine plans, and they must be able to send accurate information for the plans to be implemented" (Lumen Learning, n.d.-a).
From this article, how is mental health now being looked at, if more than ever, especially post COVID 19?
