Discuss the short-term and long-term goals needed to be achieved in order to accomplish your organizational change. Be specific regarding the short-term and long-term goals of your topic. Make sure to provide support. There are many goals that should be achieved when working in an organization. There are many goals and ideas that many people have in order to make the organization grow as a whole. Typically, short-term goals are defined as accomplishments that take 3 months to a few years. Long-term goals are usually completed in 3 to 5 years, or longer. This is not a set practice, simply a common guideline that makes sense when laying out your plans. I am focusing on the miscommunication between patients and healthcare professionals, and how this can cause issues. One of my short-term goals is to have monthly newsletters that are delivered to all of the healthcare professionals regarding the hospital's performance and how well they did. Another short-term goal you could have is to have monthly check-ins and assessments with all of the staff in order to ensure that they are communicating well with their patients and relaying all of the information. A long-term goal that I would have is to eventually get rid of the miscommunication between patients and healthcare professionals, which in turn, will result in a mortality rate in mistakes throughout the hospital being lower.
