Project Part One: Collection of Sources
The purpose of my research is to investigate the impact that stress and worry can have on an individual during a potential crisis such as COVID-19 causing several Mental Health issues. The topic of Mental Health has always interested me because millions of people have fallen below the poverty line due to the impacts of COVID-19 and what it has done to our health, social and economic impacts with Mental Health being widely affected amongst students. The research I do
will inform me about the current situation and the need for more sources being widely available for students during this time and this will help me to develop an argument as to why and how teachers and personal and more facilities as well as outreach should be available to everyone not just people that are insured. My revised research question is: What can a school district do to overcome diverse needs and different ways to cope with stressful situations? My potential answer to my research question, based on my research, schoolteachers and personnel are critical in supporting students’ transition and dealing with stress. They need to continue to provide support, as well as guidance, and provide extra support when a student needs
it like slowing down for the ones that learn at a slower pace or find it hard to concentrate. As well as they need to listen to the students’ concerns and demonstrate understanding as well as empathy. Being able to pick up on the signs that a child might express concerns about an incident
at home and knowing when to refer a child out to their primary care physicians, child protective services, or a mental health professional if they feel the child needs a specialist. I will be using some sources from organizations and physicians. These sources are biased
in that they advocate for mental health; however, they are also respected organizations that have been able to make improvements for mental health and the stance that needs to be made to advocate for students. I will also use news articles on the state of mental health. While I will be using both the biased sources, they will show the supportive argument that what has been done and what needs to be done for mental health following COVID-19.
I will be using the organizations and primary as well as different articles from news articles to get a better understanding on the need to push for more outlets for mental health amongst students showing the diverse perspectives on this topeic.

Although this article is focused on the COVID situation in 2020, it provides information about the state of adjunct faculty’s access to healthcare that has not changed much since 2020. This source is relevant to my research question because it directly addresses the need for more mental health care amongst our population that suffered during the pandemic and the need to bring mental health to the forefront. This source is relevant to my topic because it clearly explains how proper healthcare is in need for individuals not just during a Nationwide outbreak but every day. Lonnie R Snowden.
