have the capability of thought and creating their own decisions based on past experiences (or experience artificially generated for them through coding) just like in the movies! Of course without the robot retaliation (“I, Robot”, “Avengers: Age of Ultron, and “Ex Machina” for example). Sure, “Google’s DeepMind artificial intelligence group successfully taught itself to play 22 arcade games” but I was thinking more along the lines of Smart Non Player Characters
In the first month in school I have learned a lot about heroism in literature and in real life. But the most important thing i’ve learned is that everyone can be a hero because hero can be likely or unlikely. Like the famous quote said, “Not all heroes wear capes”. The may be a funny quote people use in memes but it also applies to the real life. More heroes are likely to be ordinary people not people like superman. Being a hero can mean ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Like in A Whale
They are who we would depend on if our fantasies were a reality. They are Marvel’s one and only Avengers. The Avengers were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby to compete with DC comics Justice League. The Avengers consists of; Captain America, Iron Man, Wasp, Ant Man, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Thor, and Spiderman. Out of all these heroes I believe I am like Captain America: he is loyal, stands his ground, and defends the rights of others. I am like Steve Rogers. When Steve Rogers was frozen, his
come out rooting for the other. Even though the film delivering on those aspects of war, I still did get a war atmosphere. I think raising the stakes by killing an Avenger would have been very impactful. Let's face it, Quicksilver's death in Age of Ultron had no impact. No one even mentions his death including his sister Wanda aka Scarlet Witch. I think killing off Rhodey aka War Machine or Bucky aka The Winter Soldier would have had a major influence on the Avengers emotionally. This death could have
Why Study Comics Storytelling is a part of human culture. As Barthes (1966) explains that stories are told through “articulated language, whether oral or written, pictures, still or moving” (p.237), and in that includes comics. Comic books have become part of our storytelling tradition. One unique aspect of comic books in their storytelling is that it does not follow a normal passage of time, especially when it comes to superheroes. Over the years, there have been several stories of the same superheroes
1. Introduction In a recent super hero film Avengers 2, Tony Stark creates an Artificial Intelligence – Ultron, and asks it to bring world peace. Unsurprisingly, in less than 1 second Ultron realizes that the first step to world peace is human distinction. We have seen many movies with similar ideas – AI will destroy us, regardless of what is our purpose of creating them. Is this true? What is the current level of AI technology and how far now it is from the era we can create a super intelligent
the female characters from the Spider-Man universe. Variety added that character crossovers across studio films are very rare and cost prohibitive, thereby forcing Marvel and Fox to cast different actors to play Quicksilver in The Avengers: Age of Ultron and X-Men: Days of Future Past. But the tie-up between Sony Pictures and Marvel actually benefits both sides, even if Marvel Studios will not pay Sony for rights to put the web-slinging hero in Captain America: Civil War or any of the Avengers franchise
Humans, for a long time, have thought that they are unique in their intelligence. It has set them apart from other animals and allowed them to conquer the world. Today, we use our intelligence to create technology that can carry multiple people across the world in merely hours and to destroy a significant portion of the planet with the push of a button. As we become increasingly complex and allow machines to perform the tasks once requiring human labor, we are attempting to reach the greatest task
War was based off of a script written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeeley, and it was adjusted to one of Marvel Comics' greatest crossover occasions: Mark Millar's Civil War. The movie’s plot is tied into the aftermath of The Avengers: Age of Ultron. It could be argued that there isn't even a "main villain" in the story at all. The true enemies in this film are the protagonists; Tony and Steve. This is an incredibly personal story. One that focuses on the individual characters and their struggles
