In the Story of Beowulf, Beowulf faces three major battles while paying his debts back to Hrothgar. All three monsters have similarities and differences but they all have one thing in common which is basically to hurt others. The three monsters that will be highlighted throughout this essay will be Grendel, Grendel’s mother, and the dragon. Staring off with Grendel, Grendel is this large, evil, man-eating monster that lives in the swamps below the Kingdom of Herot ruled by Hrothgar. Grendel

The story starts off with a terrible monster named Grendel who is striking fear in the danish kingdom. Grendel has started killing the danish king Hrothgar men in the king’s mead hall. Grendel is a demon that is a descendant of Cain. Grendel is a monstrous beast with stealth and claws of death and the ability to breath under water. Grendel has great speed that works with his stealth and strength. Grendel’s home is cave with a lake in it and in the entrance. Sense its home is underwater and in the

traumatic incident or after a failure. Woody Allen’s film Annie Hall captures the changes of a man named Alvy Singer. Alvy is just coming out of a failed relationship to a woman named Annie Hall. Although Alvy is sad, he begins to learn from his mistakes. Alvy (played by Woody Allen) begins the film as a death obsessed comedy writer with a bleak outlook on life. and swamps, like where Grendel resided. He was content in his existence, until the Danish leader Hrothgar built a mead hall close to his “home” if it can be called that. Hearing all the excitement and singing coming from the danes, Grendel felt pangs of different emotions, including lonliness, and jealousy. Enraged by their encroachment into his life, grendel attacked the mead hall at night, taking thirty men back to his lair and killing them. These men knew of no way to defeat Grendel, so they prayed
