University of Northern Iowa Men’s Basketball program, they each play their own part in driving the winning tradition forward in Cedar Falls. Netten serves as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Panthers, and is currently in his 11th year with the team. Prior to joining UNI, he served as an assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Superior during the 2006-07 season, serving as the team’s recruiting coordinator and basketball camps director. The FIRST Iowa Regional Robotics Competition was held in the UNI Dome and McLeod Center just a few weeks ago, from March 23 through March 25. FIRST is all about combining science, technology and fun. High school students work in teams to design robots and complete complicated tasks under strict regulations in just six weeks. On Saturday, November 12th, I went to a Northern Iowa basketball game with my friend. This was my first athletic event that I attended on campus. I was very excited to see how the atmosphere was like at the McLeod Center. The Panthers were playing Coe College from Cedar Rapids. There was not a lot of students there, so my friend and I were able to get good seats for the game. The game was really fun to watch and both teams were playing hard. UNI started out playing really well, and they eventually

things got even more interesting between Northern Iowa and Texas A&M. The Panthers and Aggies traded baskets in the first overtime (excuse the foreshadowing), and neither team led by more than three points in the session. Texas A&M senior guard Alex Caruso missed his potential game-winner with one second left, sending the game to a second overtime.
