caused their deaths? If it hadn’t been for a few select people who did a certain thing, Romeo and Juliet might still be alive. Let me tell you who is to blame, Mercutio, Friar Laurence, and Romeo himself. Mercutio? How could he blame for such a thing like this? He was one of Romeo’s best friends and only wanted the best for him. Mercutio doesn’t seem to be a person to cause the deaths of Romeo and Juliet,

I will be preforming as Romeo in the "battle of wits" scene between Romeo and Mercutio in Act 2, scene 4, lines 39-95. In Romeo's diction his tone is humorous and mischievous connotation, he says "Meaning, to curtsy" (line 54) in response to Mercutio accusing him of ditching his friends for intimacy, "The slip...such a case as yours constrains a man to bow at the hams" (49-53). As I say "curtsy" I shall physically curtsy to put emphasis on the fact that I am ignoring his suggestion. Mercutio's tone

Mercutio, the witty skeptic, is Romeo’s best friend, and is a nuisance for Romeo. Mercutio mocks Romeo’s vision of love and romance while Mercutio regards love only as a physical pursuit. He supports a concept of love that contrasts sharply with Romeo’s notion of romantic union. Mercutio’s stubbornness, sarcastic attitude, and his honor ultimately lead to his death. The Queen Mab speech in Act I, Scene 4, displays Mercutio's fluency and vivid imagination, while illustrating his skeptical side. Mercutio

even animals are capable, and do, make friends. In “Romeo and Juliet”, there are two families, The Capulets, and The Montagues, who are quite the opposite and have had a feud for many years. Romeo, who is the son of a Montague, has a best friend, Mercutio, but many believe he is just a filler character in the story. In William Shakespeare's “Romeo and Juliet”, apart from clashing with Tybalt (a Capulet), Mercutio’s role in the story has serious purpose because he provides comic relief to

My overall take on the Mercutio and Tybalt death scene is that it is the first moment in the play where the story turns from a love story into a tragedy which is seen through the voice and tone of Mercutio and Benvolio throughout the scene. At first, the scene starts out somewhat light-hearted as Tybalt and Mercutio partake in a sparing of wits, however, once Romeo enters, it is necessary for the actors playing Tybalt and Mercutio to gradually raise the stakes so the tension in the scene escalates

The key messages and values that this scene explores are love and conflict.
