Poems "Island Man" and "The Fringe Of The Sea" I recently read two poems entitled "Island Man" and "The Fringe Of The Sea". They are both similar in theme, but they also have many differences. Both poems are based on the emotions of people who live near the sea and their feelings towards it. This theme relates to both of the authors, and connects them; the author of "The Fringe Of The Sea", A.L. Hendricks, was born in Jamaica and later in life moved to Britain. Easter Island has puzzled people for centuries.”(Innes 4) Easter Island is a tiny island that lies in the southern Pacific Ocean and is 2000 miles west of the coast of Chile and is known as “Rapanui”. Many researchers have a general idea of what caused the collapse of Easter Island, a 63-mile Polynesian island, also called Rapa Nui, located in the Pacific nearly four thousand miles west from the country of Chile (Krulwich 2013). Most of whom who investigate the specific aspects that brought Easter Island to its ultimate downfall, which includes extreme deforestation, pests, soil erosion, and a more or less lack of resources, are able to connect this fatal downward spiral to the rest of the world
The Big Island is twice as big as the rest of the Hawaiian Islands put together. Comparing the Big Island and Oahu, it is pretty obviously that the Big Island is bigger. Oahu is made up of only two volcanoes, but the Big Island is made up of five volcanoes and a sixth one forming. The Big Island is 4,028 square miles and Oahu is 597 square miles. Although the Big Island and Oahu have similarities, they also have many differences. The Big Island and Oahu both have volcanoes and tourist attractions

The capital of Hawaii, Honolulu, is where most tourist visits because it is the most advertised. Although, Honolulu is not appealing to me, I would visit the island named Hawai’i (also known as the Big Island) which has many more activities with sights to see. The state of Hawaii has been trying to preserve their islands as much as possible. Some of the natural beaches are made
With the new prison, the U.S. Army ran a rather mild institution with minimum security. “Prisoners spent their days working and learning…Many prisoners worked as gardeners while a select few were employed as babysitters for the children of prison officers (Mahaney, Erin.
