Can you feel the excitement? FOOTBALL IS BACK!!! (Well almost). Thursday marks the first pre-season game for the Cowboys. As you all know pre-season is mainly for the bottom of the roster players who are looking to make the team, and make a name for themselves. Most of the starters only plays one series this game. So there are five players I think you should pay close attention to for Thursday’s game. Lucky will be the starting punt returner/kick returner for game. I’m so excited that he gets a
the season. Tonight they had to win. Tonight was the night where they had to improve their record. York High is a tough team full of many talented athletes, but lacking the knowledge of the game. Or so we thought. Walking into the locker room, you could feel the intensity of the guys. They knew that their season depended on tonight. It was their last night as freshman football players, it was their last night to make a name for themselves. They tried to play it off as if they weren't nervous, but
second half started. The referee blew the whistle and the game started. It was the other teams kickoff. Sadie and i yelled “PUSH UP” as everyone started running to the other half of the field. We got a few shots off goal but we were pushing their back line like crazy. The next 20 minutes of the game was just keeping possession then losing it then getting it back and so on. When the other team gained possession they started
It all started at school. Everyone on the team was wearing their jerseys. Later in the day we had a pep rally in the school gym. It was a lot of fun and got us all pumped up for the big game. There were food and drinks for everyone and I had a good time. The next day was our game and I was focused on winning. We were going against St. Margaret and they we're pretty big, but that didn't phase us. Time for kickoff and we were receiving first. Billy, our starting running back, caught the ball and
of experience, began filming its first game. My experiences with my high school’s football team had begun some four years earlier, as an eighth grader. I was approached one day at lunch by a high schooler interested in knowing whether or not I wanted to try out for the freshman team in high school. Although I had no knowledge or previous interest in football, I was big, and thus a desirable candidate for the team. I decided to join out of curiosity. The first few practices were a blur of routines
building of a football dynasty is an American dream. There are numerous aspects that go into the creation a great football team, such as coaching, player talent, money, and location. In fact, there are legendary teams that football fans can look back on for examples in the area. lost to that team in thirty nine years, and I wanted it to be forty. Preparation was our downfall, and all we could do was move on and get ready for the next game. The next week on the last day of practice, Coach Rod brings us over and says, “ What are you willing to do for this team, because all it takes is all you have got”. I thought that was a great week of practice for us. It had seemed like we were prepared and ready for the next game; we were not. Carthage came with
Do you like football? Because this is my story about how I joined a football team! First, I asked my dad if I could join the school football team. My dad said “yeah I haven't really seen you on the football field so often, last time I did you played for the Heritage Hawks.” I was pretty nervous if they said no. So as I came up to meet the coaches, we talked and they said that they need a Right Tackle, so I was in! The coaches was was really nice, they said “after school tomorrow, show up at practice
During my internship I worked with Franklin High School’s football team, I started on June 25th and worked all the way to August 14th Monday-Friday for 3.5 hours each day. So all together I gotten a total of 122 hours. What I did during the internship was help the coaches in any way I possibly could, such as help setting up equipment for drills, helping the quarterbacks warm up, help run drills , and being the ball boy during their scrimmages. I did anything that the coaches asked me to help with
first I’d ever seen the New York Jets play in person! It was imperative that I wear my Jets shirt. They were versing the team that they shared a stadium with, the New York Giants. But, even though it was just a preseason game, I was frantic that the Giants might win. I’m a New York Jets fan. So, I felt that it was crucial we win.We weren’t much of a team. The quarterback of our team at the time wasn’t that great, and neither was the rest of our line-up. But, I was excited to be there. My heart was beating
