Question
Chapter 35.2, Problem 2CC
Summary Introduction
To determine: How the determinate growth of leaves benefits the plant.
Concept introduction:
Plants have the unique ability to grow in an indeterminate manner that helps them to grow throughout the life. Plants have the meristematic tissues that allow this type of growth. There are two types of growth that occur in plants. One is primary growth that takes place in apical parts such as root and shoots. Another type of growth is secondary growth that occurs in older parts of the plant. Some plant organs show determinate type of growth, that is, they stop their growth after a period of time. Leaves and flowers exhibit this type of growth.
