Question
Chapter 24.2, Problem 1LO
Summary Introduction
To determine: The difference between autopolyploidy and allopolyploidy.
Introduction: Polyploidy occurs when the cells undergokaryokinesis (a division of the nucleus) but fail to undergo cytokinesis (a division of the cytoplasm). This results in an increase in the haploid sets of chromosomes in the cells. The polyploidy might give rise to triploid, tetraploid, hexaploid organisms.
