Chapter 19.3, Problem 1AYLO
Summary Introduction
To discuss:
The structural properties of cardiomyocytes and how they differ from skeletal muscles and relatedto the unique functions of a cardiac muscle.
Introduction:
Cardiomyocytes are the basic and functional units of the heart. These cells constitute to form the majority of heart tissues alongside with collagen and elastic fibers. These cardiomyocytes are primarily responsible for the contraction and relaxation of the heart as well as for the electric pulse transmittance for heart beat.
