Question
Chapter 17.4, Problem 21BYGO
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
Hydrophilic hormone receptors are located on the plasma membrane. They are peptide hormones (insulin) and catecholamine, which are soluble in water. They cannot diffuse through the plasma membrane, and their receptors are present on the cell surface (transmembrane protein receptor). Hormone binding on receptors leads to cell signal transduction, and they act through secondary messengers (cAMP).
