Why do different operating systems store directory files on different tracks on discs? Which of these do you think has the most good things going for it, and why?

What 2 main components make up a file name in most modern day operating systems? What is a path name? What is a relative file name? What is an absolute (complete) file name?

The operating system is responsible for arranging the blocks in the right sequence whenever a file is written to disk. How does this matter while talking about magnetic disks? If solid-state drives (SSDs) were used instead, would it make a difference? I don't understand what took occurred.

After one partition on a hard disc drive has been formatted using a filesystem, all following partitions on that disc are required to utilise the same filesystem. Is this the right answer or the wrong answer?
