. Which parts of the pine life cycle are haploid (1n or n, contains only one set of chromosomes)?
The life of a plant starts as a seed which then germinates and grows into a plant. In general there are two types of plants namely angiosperms and gymnosperms.
The angiosperms are the flowering plants that contain seed enclosed in an ovary and the gymnosperms are the group of plants that possess no fruits or flowers and have naked seeds that may be found on the surface of the leaf.
The gymnosperms are vascular plants whose life cycle has a dominant sporophyte generation with both gametophyte and sporophyte produced on the same parent plant.
Examples of gymnosperms are pine and spruce trees.
