identity while encouraging economic expansion and technological innovation
Koryo or Goryeo dynasty is a dynasty that ruled the Korean peninsula from 918 to 1392 CE. The dynasty was established by Wang Geon, who overthrew the state Koguryo in north-central Korea and changed the state's name to Koryo.
Later, King Songjong establishes a centralized bureaucracy replacing the old aristocratic tribal system. Confucianism and Buddhism were prominent religions. King Wang Geon himself was a great patron of Buddhism and Buddhist art.
