What is the role of Abducent?

The abducens nerve (also called the abducent nerve) is the sixth cranial nerve, in humans, which controls the movement of the muscle lateral. The muscle is important for outward gaze. The sixth cranial nerve is categorized as a somatic efferent nerve. The abducens nerve is also called the abducent or sixth cranial nerve (CN6). Abducens controls the eye's lateral rectus muscle. It is responsible for moving the eye sideways, and away from the nose.
