Aim:
Procedure for OC Test:
a) To determine the Transformation Ratio of Single-Phase Transformers.
b) To perform the Open Circuit (0C) Test and Short Circuit (SC) Test on a Single-Phase
Transformer.
c) To pre determine the Power Losses and Efficiency of Single-Phase Transformer, by conducting
OC and SC test on a single-phase transformer.
1. Make the connections as shown in the circuit diagram.
2. Keep the voltage knob of the AC supply (Auto Transformer) in minimum condition and then switch
ON the AC supply.
3. Tum the 2-pole switch in ON condition.
4. Increase the voltage of the AC power supply until the voltmeter on the supply side shows the rated
voltage of the transformer (e 220 V). The rated voltage is writen on the data plaie of the
Apparatus required:
transformer.
