The cell division is the process in which the cell divides into two or four daughter cells. There are two types of cell division present:
- Mitosis
- Meiosis
The cell division broadly has 4 different phases:
- Prophase
- Metaphase
- Anaphase
- Telophase
The cell's chromosomes are usually aligned to the metaphase plate in the metaphase and are separated in the anaphase. Chromosomes fail to separate properly during meiosis and this gives rise to polyploidy condition.
