In part A we have to Find the instantaneous acceleration at t = 3, t = 7, and t = 11. 

The slope of velocity time graph shows accerlation 

For t = 3 sec

At t=3s, the graph is horizontal, slope is 0, so the acceleration is 0.  

For t= 7 sec 

From t=5s to t=9s, the acceleration is constant (from the graph) and equal to 

45-20/9-5 = 6.25 m/s2 

For t= 11 sec 

From t=9s to t=13s, the acceleration is constant and equal to 0-45/13-9 = -11.25 m/s2
