How do I approach this? To give some context: I have to proof by the epsilon delta definition that the limit of x to 1 of the function (1-sqrt(x))/(1-x)=1/2. Suppose |x-1|<δ. Check |(1-sqrt(x))/(1-x)-1/2|. I simplied this and got (1-2(sqrt(x))+x)/(2(1-x)) from here I want to take a common variable out to get |x-1| and here is where I am stuck.
