Question

Transcribed Image Text:The problem are DC analysis problems. For each of the circuits verify the mode of operation and solve
for all applicable DC voltages and currents.
When you "verify" a mode of operation you will need to calculate all three voltages (Vc,
V8, VẸ for BJTS and VG, Vs, Vp for MOSFETS) and show the correct two conditions are
satisfied.
Assume Capacitors acts like open circuits at DC and short circuits for AC.
Assume the following:
o Beta = 100
o VBE = 0.7
o V: (Thermal) = 26 mV
o Vr (Threshold) = 2V
O VA = --

o For MOSFET saturation mode: assume I, = K(VGs-V+)?

- Consider an idealized diode with a reverse saturation current 0.01 mA and an abrupt turn-on voltage of 0.7 V (assume no breakdown and operation away from the knee of the diode curve). For the circuit shown, both resistors are 100 2, the constant source is Vp = 5 V, and the time-dependent source is V3 = 20 sin(at) V. Calculate (a) the peak positive voltage V and the associated current through the diode and (b) the peak negative voltage V and the associated current through the diode. If we extend this thinking and apply it to an interface between a metal and (p-or n-type) semiconductor to make a metal-semiconductor heterojunction, what will the expected outcome be?
