Before choosing a profession, one should perform a (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) SWOT analysis of himself/herself. SWOT analysis stands for Strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats. One should asses the strength, personality, values, and skills needed for the profession.
List down professions you are interested in:
If one has evaluated strengths, skills, and interests, one should make a list of careers to think about. It’s useful to have a long list, with at least ten career choices because there is no such thing as just one dream career.
Goal identification:
One should set his short-term and long term goals before selecting a profession. One should examine whether this profession will help to achieve these goals or not.
