SQL
SQL stands for Structured Query Language, is a form of communication that uses queries structured in a specific format to store, manage & retrieve data from a relational database.
Queries
A query is a type of computer programming language that is used to retrieve data from a database. Databases are useful in a variety of ways. They enable the retrieval of records or parts of records, as well as the performance of various calculations prior to displaying the results. A search query is one type of query that many people perform several times per day. A search query is executed every time you use a search engine to find something. When you press the Enter key, the keywords are sent to the search engine, where they are processed by an algorithm that retrieves related results from the search index. Your query's results are displayed on a search engine results page, or SER.
Describe a scenario and write a query that uses $redact, $$descend and $$prune
commands.
Step by step
Solved in 3 steps
- Create a query based on tblEmployee and tblPurchase using the Find Unmatched Query Wizard that lists the EmployeelDFirstName, and LastName of any employee who has not yet made a sale. Save the query as qryEmployeeNoSales and then close the queryQuery 3: Write a parameter query to display the names of all prospects each member tried to recruit based on the member’s first name and the member’s last name you input. List the member’s First Name, member’s Last Name, prospect’s First Name, and prospect’s Last Name (in this order in the query grid). Display the member’s First Name Heading as Member First Name, member’s Last Name Heading as Member Last Name, prospect’s first name heading as Prospect First Name, and prospect’s last name heading as Prospect Last Name. Sort the list by Member Last Name, Member First Name, Prospect Last Name, and Prospect First Name, all ascending order. (WE ARE USING ACCESS SO I AM JUST TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT TO PUT AND PLUG IN ETC. USE MY PICTURES AS REFERRENCE!)In The SQL Oracle Application Using the UNION operator, write a query that displays the employee_id, job_id, and salary of ALL present and past employees. If a salary is not found, then just display a 0 (zero) in its place.
- Create a query that that returns staff members’ names (excludingdoctors), their hourly rates, number of hours worked and Salary(calculated column; there are 13 employees in the clinic) for the twoweeks period Create a query that returns all patients enrolled permanently with one ofthe doctors Create a query that would create a list of all patients that were seen by aparticular doctor on a given date (i.e. 12 December, 2020)Task 2: List the customer ID and first and last names for all customers located in the city of Cody. Your query should ignore case. For example, a customer with the city Cody should be included, as should customers whose city is CODY, cody, cOdY, and so on.WEEK SQL ASSIGNMENT Complete the following exercise: Alter your student table adding a new column called enroll_date using the datetime data type. Populate the new column (enroll_date) with the current date and time. Using your student table return the student first and last names concatenated with a space and then the enroll_date minus one month. Here is an example of the output: Name Date Jane Smith 2019-05-03 13:14:12 Tom Jones 2020-08-07 05:23:56 Using your student table return the month name for the enroll_date column. For example, if the enroll_date was 11-6-2019 then the month name would be June.
- Write a SELECT statement that returns three columns: EmailAddress, OrderID, and the order total for each customer. To do this, you can group the result set by the EmailAddress and OrderID columns. In addition, you must calculate the order total from the columns in the OrderItems table. Write a second SELECT statement that uses the first SELECT statement in its FROM clause. The main query should return two columns: the customers email address and the largest order for that customer. To do this, you can group the result set by the EmailAddress column.with it, paste your code in a text file named Student.txt and save it in your task folder. Write the SQL code to create a table called Student. The table structure is summarised in the table below (Note that STU_NUM is the primary key): STU_NUM Attribute Name STU_SNAME STU_FNAME STU_INITIAL STU_STARTDATE COURSE_CODE PROJ_NUM STU STU_S STU_F STU_INITIAL NUM NAME NAME 01 02 Snow John E CHAR(6) After you have created the table in question 1, write the SQL code to enter the first two rows of the table as below: Stark Arya с VARCHAR(15) VARCHAR(15) CHAR(1) DATE CHAR(3) INT(2) Data Type STU_STARTDATE COURSE_ PROJ_ CODE NUM 05-Apr-14 12-Jul-17 201 305 6 11 Assuming all the data in the Student table has been entered as shown below, write the SQL code that will list all attributes for a COURSE_CODE of 305.How does a parameter query differ from a select query?
- The Driver Relationship team realized that maintaining driver IDs is difficult and requested an automatic way of incrementing the value when a new driver is added. You need to make the changes on the table to automatically increment the Driver ID. After the change, you need to insert the following driver: First Name: Nursin Last Name: Yilmaz Driving License ID: 4141447 Start Date: 2019-12-28 Driving License Checked: True Rating: 4.0 THIS IS IN SQL FORMAT FOR CENGAGE MINDTAP, PLEASE HELP I AM STUCKImagine that you are a database manager at a company that makes custom shirts. One column in the database lists the wholesale price of the shirts. A second column lists the labor charge, which is currently set to 11 percent of the wholesale price of the shirt. A third column lists the retail price of the shirt, which is the combination of the wholesale price and the labor charge. Write the statements that calculate the values that belongs in the second and third columns. How could you use a query to format these columns?Book Sales database (Just Lee Book sales Company): Which of below SQL option resolves this problem? Produce a list of each customer number and the third and fourth digits of his or her zip code. The query should also display the position of the first occurrence of a 3 in the customer number, if it exists. SELECT customer#, SUBSTR(zip, 3), INSTR(customer#, 3) FROM customers; SELECT customer#, INSTR(zip, 3, 2), INSTR(customer#, 3) FROM customers; SELECT customer#, SUBSTR(zip, 2, 3), INSTR(customer#, 1) FROM customers; SELECT customer#, SUBSTR(zip, 3, 2), INSTR(customer#, 3) FROM customers;
