Read the short case incident below and answer the question at the end of the case study. Dronexx electronics developed a revolutionary method of drone fast food delivery that could pick up orders from a fast-food location and keep the warm food warm and the cold food cold until delivery at a specified GPS address up to 8 Km away depending on the size of the order. The head of research and development Guy Jiang estimated that Dronexx electronics could become a supplier to every fast-food chain in the world. The future success of the company seemed to hang on securing the broadest possible patents to cover the still secret technology. The Human Resources director, Jackson Huang recommended that Jiang become a project leader in charge of developing and filing the necessary patent information. Jiang and Huang developed a list of specialists who would be needed to rush the patent applications 3 through the final stages of development and the patent application process. Most of the needed skills were found among Dronexx electronics present employees. However, after a preliminary review of skills inventories and staffing levels a list of priority vacancies were developed. It required the following: • An experienced patent lawyer with a strong background in electronics technology • A patent lawyer who was familiar with the ins and outs of the patent process and the patent office in Hull, Quebec. • A total of 12 engineers and software developers: i.e., three electronics engineers with prototype development experience, four full-stack programmers and five junior programmers • An office manager Jiang and Huang wanted these 15 people recruited as promptly as possible
Case Study Questions 1) Assuming you are given the responsibility of recruiting these needed employees, what recruitment methods will you use to find and attract candidates for each of the above positions. Secondly what selection devices would you recommend for shortlisting the candidates? Justify your answer

Fuller Uses Supplier Visits to Narrow the Supply Base H.B. Fuller Corporation illustrates how first-hand information gained through supplier visits plays a large part in narrowing the supply base. Latin America sourcing manager Roy Calderón of H.B. Fuller narrows down his list of suppliers by obtaining first-hand information. Whenever possible, that means touring supplier plants and interacting with the supplier’s staff. “I have a technical and manufacturing background, so I first try to understand the logistical and manufacturing capabilities of a supplier, as well as their quality assurance process and systems,” says Calderón. Then globalization took hold. As cross-border tariffs tumbled, U.S. bicycle companies increasingly outsourced the manufacture of component parts and final assembly to other countries where production costs were significantly lower. By far the biggest beneficiary of this trend was China. In 2018, about 95 percent of the 17 million bicycles sold in the United States were assembled in China. China also produced more than 300 million components for bikes, such as tires, tubes, seats, and handlebars—or about 65 percent of U.S. bike component imports. Most American bicycles companies that remained in business focused on the design and marketing of products that were made elsewhere. American consumers benefited from lower prices for bikes. One exception to the outsourcing trend was Detroit Bikes, a company started in 2013 by Zakary Pashak in Detroit, Michigan.
