Social research is done by sociologists to find solutions to research problems in society. For example to understand the reasons for the dropout rate in area A sociologists need to collect data by using data collection tools like observation, questionnaires, interviews, etc, and then analyze the collected data. The term data analysis refers to analyzing by looking at the data collected on or off the field and then relating it to the research question and deriving a probable and logical conclusion. There are many methods of collecting and analyzing data that sociologists use like ethnography, observation, case study, or even secondary methods of data analysis like textual or content analysis, however in this answer, we will discuss a secondary method of data analysis, i.e. textual analysis of data in sociology.
