The processor checks for an interrupt at the beginning of each fetch cycle (or at the end of each execute cycle).  If there is an unmasked interrupt, the processor has to handle the interrupt(s) first, before fetching the next instruction.  Modify  the first part of figure 1.1 so that it reflects this notion.
