Please consider Figures, 10.28, and Table 10.2 (attached), which contain data that were collected by Delph and Lively, are redepicted from their paper that was published in 1989, and for which information is provided on pp. 391-383 in the textbook (pp. 385-388 in the 4TH edition textbook); assess the lowercase-Roman-numeral-labelled statements that appear immediately below; and click the uppercase-letter-labelled response that is presented below and conveys the most accurate information. i. Germinated pollen grains in Fuchsia excorticata grow tubes that extend from the stigma, through the style, to the ovary, where one sperm unites with one egg; this requires approximately 3 days. ii. Before a Fuchsia excorticata flower can detach from the tree, an abscission zone must be developed; this typically requires 1.5 days. iii. Colour change in Fuchsia excorticata probably evolved as an adaptation to the physiologically constraining 4.5 days that are required for fertilisation and abscission zone development; as plants must retain flowers during this time, natural selection favoured individuals offering cues that increased pollinator efficiencies. iv. Flowers on Fuchsia excortica remain attached to the plant beyond pollination as a consequence from a physiological constraint. v. Flowers on Fuchsia excortica plants change colour partially because colour change provides a signal to pollinators that some flowers no longer offer a reward; sending this signal would have been selected for because, then, pollinators would transfer pollen among flowers more efficiently.   Question 5 options:   A)  All statements convey accurate information.   B)  Statement iii conveys accurate information.   C)  Statement iv conveys accurate information.   D)  Statement v conveys accurate information.   E)  Statement i conveys accurate information.

Because a Kotukutuku flower hangs downward, its ovary is at the top (Figure
10.28a). The body of the bell consists of the hypanthium, or floral tube, and the
sepals. The style resembles an elongated clapper. It is surrounded by shorter sta-
mens and a set of reduced petals.
The hypanthium and sepals are the most conspicuously showy parts of the
flower. They remain green for about 5.5 days after the flower opens, then begin
to turn red (Figure 10.28b). The transition from green to red lasts about 1.5 days,
