Name and locate the four chambers of the heart.
The heart is a vital and muscular organ of the body that is principally responsible for pumping the blood. This organ provides oxygenated blood to the body.
The heart comprises four chambers which involve two atrium and two ventricles. The heart lies between the lungs behind the breastbone. The left atrium lies at the posterior side, and the right atrium is located at the right border in the heart. The right and left ventricle lie at the heart's base and receives the blood from the atrium.
The deoxygenated blood enters the heart through the right atrium, and the right atrium contracts and blood enters the right ventricle. From there, the blood is pumped to the lungs, where it gets loaded with oxygen. A pulmonary vein carries this oxygenated blood to the left atrium, and from there, it is pumped into the left ventricle. From the left ventricle, the aorta carries the blood to the body.
