Metis Settlements (Duck Lake, Batoche, St Louis)

 1. Rezoning of Metis land (many of the Metis in these areas had left Red River in 1870 because of this. Now it was happening again. )

 2. Poor prices for their wheat.

 3. The Buffalo had disappeared therefore jobs for the Metis with the HBC also disappeared.

 4. No means of transporting goods to the markets in the east. Branch lines had not been built.

 5. No Elected members to the House of Commons.
