The force on charged particle in a magnetic field is

If the charge particle is no moving in the magnetic field, then the magnetic force does not make the charge to move.

If the  motion of the charged particle is in the direction of the magnetic field, then the field does not affect the particles motion, it continues to moves in a straight line.

However, when the motion of the charged particle is not in the same direction of the magnetic field, then the magnetic force causes the charged particle to moves in a circle and so the motion of the charged particle is spiral
