If CH3COONa.3H2O and CH3COOH were added to a solution would this molecular equation of the reaction be correct ? and would the NaOH react with the products of the buffer solution ? CH3COOH + H2O --------> CH3CHOO- H3O+ CH3COONa.3H2O + H2O -------> ? 2: If CH3COONa.3H2O and CH3COOH are used to make a buffer solution, When NaOH reacts with buffer how would it react. CH3CHOOH + NaOH ----------> CH3CHOONa + H2O Would this be correct ? I'm really confused with some of the these questions.
Ionic Equilibrium
Chemical equilibrium and ionic equilibrium are two major concepts in chemistry. Ionic equilibrium deals with the equilibrium involved in an ionization process while chemical equilibrium deals with the equilibrium during a chemical change. Ionic equilibrium is established between the ions and unionized species in a system. Understanding the concept of ionic equilibrium is very important to answer the questions related to certain chemical reactions in chemistry.
Arrhenius Acid
Arrhenius acid act as a good electrolyte as it dissociates to its respective ions in the aqueous solutions. Keeping it similar to the general acid properties, Arrhenius acid also neutralizes bases and turns litmus paper into red.
