I conducted a study for a project where 20 students were surveyed asking them if they drink coffee or another caffeineted beverage before schoolwork and if so do they belive it helps their academic performance.
10 students did and 10 students did not. 4 students believed it helped and 6 students did not think it helped.
I am to use either a (Test of Association hypothesis test), a (Goodness of Fit hypothesis test), a (Two sample hypothesis test for means) or a (Two sample hypothesis test for proportions). Which test do you think would be most appropriate?

- П. STA requires each student to train a rat to perform specific behaviors. Student grades are determined by the rats' performance. Mr. Simmons is concerned that students who have prior experience with training rats or other animals may have an advantage. To test the hypothesis, she gave each student a survey at the start of the class. The survey asked students about their previous animal related experiences. At the course's conclusion, she compared the rats' learning for students with prior animal experience to students without. - Suppose you want to find out how many people support Policy X. A standard polling approach is to just ask N many people whether or not they support Policy X, and take the fraction of people who say yes as an estimate of the probability that any one person supports the policy. Suppose that the probability someone supports the policy is p, which you do not know. Let îy be the number of people polled who supported the policy, divided by the total number of people polled N. However, a problem with polling is whether or not people are willing to answer honestly. If a question might be viewed as shameful or embarrassing (about politics, sexual activity, or whatever people are sensitive about), they may be reluctant to answer honestly. A potential solution to this is the following: suppose that 'YES' is the embarrassing or socially shameful answer; give the people you are polling the following instructions: flip a coin privately, and if it comes up heads answer honestly, but if it comes up…arrow_forwardThere is some research to indicate that different dog breeds differ in emotionality. To consider these differences, a researcher administers a standard test of emotionality to 3 breeds of dogs (German Shepherd, Cocker Spaniel, and Chihuahua), with 4 dogs from each breed being tested. Higher scores mean higher emotionality. The results for the emotionality test scores appear below. Using the 7 steps of hypothesis testing, test the idea that there are differences in emotionality based on dog breed using α = .05 Emotionality Scores for Dogs German Shepherd Cocker Spaniel Chihuahua 6 0 10 1 4 12 7 0 9 2 0 8 T = 16 T = 4 T = 39 Gt = 59 N = 12 ∑x2 = 495 4. - A graduate student believes that people consider faces with more contrast between lip color and skin tone as more feminine. She identifies the null hypothesis as: Ho: The level of contrast between lip color and skin tone does not affect how feminine a face is considered. She chooses a significance level of 0.05. After she collects the data and computes the sample statistics, it is time for her to make a decision about the null hypothesis. What are the two possible decisions that the graduate student can make? Check all that apply. There is not enough evidence to reject the hypothesis that the contrast between lip color and skin tone affects how feminine a face is considered.
