Question
A child decides to take her cat on a walk, but the cat does not cooperate. The child pulls on the 2.5 kg cat with force of 20 N in a direction that is 30 degrees above horizontal, and the cat resists being pulled forward with a horizontal force of 15 N.
How much force is the child pulling with in thedirection the cat will move?
Expert Solution
arrow_forward
Step 1
For cat to move..... Force applied by child in horizonty direction should be greater than the resistance of cat....
Mass of cat = m = 2.5 kg
Fr = 15 N
F = 20 N...
With 30° horizontal....
So Fx = 20 cos(30)
Fy = 20 sin(30)
Also in y direction there are other forces also....
